Oh My goodness I am so sorry. I can't imagine what you are feeling right now. Your family is in my thoughts.
PAIF
pregnant after round 2 of IVF. Transferred 2 embryos and (surprise!) was pregnant with triplets. Identicals passed at 8 and 10 weeks. Still have one healthy baby boy with EDD of July 30!
I'm so sorry to read this. I hope those babies do stay in for a while longer.
This also happened to me with my twins. My situation was a little different as I was 31w2d. I never did develop an infection and even though his water broke baby A never showed signs of distress. I did continue to leak fluid so I just tried to drink as much water as possible to help refill it.
It sounds like they are doing every thing they can for all of you and I really hope those babies continue to stay put.

@AMShark if you can't sleep in the hospital I would take benadryl to get some sleep. My first night in the hospital I think I slept for an hour. I didn't want to take it at first but after I did I actually slept.

This is heartbreaking news. I truly hope that the plan your doctors put in place keeps you and your little fighters safe. I will definitely be adding your to my prayers.

Thanks for all of the continued support. It's nice to know there are so many people pulling for us. (and that's *on top* of my Catholic parents & MiL, who are probably currently taking the shine off of several sets of rosary beads).
The positives for this morning are that there are still no signs of pain, contractions, or cramping, and no signs of infection.
Plus, I have my laptop now, and the wifi at the hospital is pretty decent.
@AMShark so happy to hear that things are looking good! Thank you for updating us. I couldn't stop thinking about you guys either. Continuing to send positive thoughts your way!

Things are still stable today. I was discharged from the hospital yesterday - which is standard protocol for PPROM before 23w. (23w5d is the age of viability - and the truth is, if I start labor before 23w, there is nothing they can do to save the babies. Medication to stop contraction is widely *not* recommended at this early stage).
While I was at the hospital I received fluids and 3 antibiotics via IV. I was wearing a contraction monitor for the first day and a half, but as things were looking good, they decided to remove it on Friday afternoon. The nurses took my temperature and blood pressure frequently (about every 3 hours) to look for signs of infection. They also checked the babies' heartbeats every 8 hours, and each time they were in range (130s to 155).
Now, I'm home and not exactly on bed rest (I can get up, walk within reason, eat at the kitchen table and shower), but I'm pretty much under house arrest. I'm on 1 oral antibiotic (clindamycin) that I take every 8 hours (hello, 1:30 am alarm for my 3rd dose). My main job is to rest and watch for signs of infection or early labor. If we can make it to 23w, the plan now is to check into the hospital with the higher level NICU, and start on steroids and probably magnesium to develop the lungs and protect the brain. If I can make it another 2 weeks, I believe I'd get a 2nd dose of steroids.... and so on.
On Tuesday, I have a follow up appointment with my MFM. I expect I'll have another scan then, to look at the amniotic fluid around each baby. I feel like the leak has really slowed down - I hope that's more than just my imagination. I haven't seen anything like the volume of fluid that I lost when I woke up soaked to my knees, early Thursday morning. I know that the body can generate more amniotic fluid, so I'm hoping to see a good build up of fluid on both babies (though, at this point, it looked as though only baby A was leaking - We believe baby B's sac is still in tact). I'll also find out if my MFM will allow me to work from home on Tuesday. I'm hoping the answer is yes. I completely have a desk job, where I usually work from home about 3x/month already. The only reason I can see for saying "no" is the idea that I should avoid stress, but frankly I really, really could use the distraction. Yesterday morning, I had an ugly run-in with Doc Google, that made me decide to spend the rest of the day off of the internet. I just don't need that much free time to think about the "what ifs." Besides, there's a certain amount of stress that comes from walking out of work on a Wednesday night, with the full expectation that you'll be back to work daily for several more months, and then finding out at 4:00 am on Thursday that you will be out for an unknown period of time. We're stilling trying to plan as if we will be taking 2 babies home - whether that's sooner or later. My husband went out yesterday, and ordered furniture, 2 car seats and a few other important items (checking first to be sure that all was returnable) - to take advantage of December sales. (And also, being realistic - there is no scenario - good or bad, where it would even be possible for someone to throw me a baby shower - and if someone did, I would cry through the whole thing - so, we're trying to be hopefully practical - preparing for the best - and staying aware of the worst).
I finally started to feel movement while I was in the hospital, and baby B remains active. I'm trying not to worry too much about why baby A is so much quieter. My fear is that he's running out of space to move, which is bad for his development - but baby A did sleep through my A/S a little over a week (or maybe a lifetime) ago, while B was moving too much for the tech to finish measurements... assuming they haven't switched places, maybe its just a difference in personalities.
That's all for now, I suppose. I'm just watching my Giants limp through the rest of the season (I could really have used them in the playoffs this year), and watching DH decorate the tree (which he deemed somehow, too strenuous for me) - and watching my cats show me how to lay on the couch like a pro (I should really take these tips - I mean, they seem to be absolute experts at relaxing).
Thanks a hundred times for all of your kind words. I'll keep posting, as long as there are things to post.
Thanks for the update....Will continue to keep you and your lo's in my prayers.
