For those of you who've already done this...
How many of you missed that you were in real, actual labor?
Those of us first timers due soon have been talking about our cramps and achy backs and BH contractions - I'm just wondering if I'll truly, really know it's labor until things are really progressing and I need to get to a hosital....
Re: Recognizing "Real" Labor Signs
everyone will gove you different opinions on this cause it truly is different for eeryone. But I can tell you my BH felt just like my belly was getting har and tight where as real labor contractions besides being timable at 5 minutes apart were take your breath away paniful. It started in my back and as teh contraction progreses it moves towards your belly. I couldnt lay down or standup during them where as BH I could still function as they felt like mini perios cramps. Contractions felt like someone was squeezing the life out of me fro the inside out.
I was induced at 42 weeks with both kiddos...hopefully you won't be like me!
I was having a lot of BH the few weeks prior to my L&D with Payton, but the contractions I had going into labor felt much much lower and they were perfectly timed. It was very obvious to me that they were labor contractions and not BH.

I had a lot of "OMG IS THIS IT?!" moments where I realized my fake labor contractions were happening fairly regularly, but then they'd stop after I timed them for awhile. Pregnancy plays cruel, mean tricks on you. After I was induced, the real contractions felt like the fake ones, they just eventually got longer and there wasn't much of a break between them.
So, in short, I am of no help to you.
TMI - I started pooping. I thought I had bad indigestion, and my dinner didn't agree with me. When I was finally done, I still felt like I needed to go. That was when I started looking at the clock.....and my contractions were 4 minutes apart, and then went to 3 minutes apart. My labor was supper fast, but my water didn't break until I was 10 cm dialated.
