Re: what does everyone think of the name Pacey Landon?

  • I don't like it at all, sorry. :-( Is it pronounced pace-ee?

  • I just can't picture an adult Pacey.  I don't know.  NMS at all.

  • I am not a fan. It feels too made up to me.

  • Not my favorite name.  I prefer Landon to Pacey for a first name.  It is your kid if you like it then go with it.  I mean its not like you are naming him something completely out there or inappropriate so use it if you want.

  • If you love it, you love it. Personally, I do NOT like it. Landon is a good name. Pacey sounds a bit girly, and I cannot picture a grown man introducing himself as Pacey. But again, if you're stuck on it, it's your baby to name :)
  • I don't love it but I don't judge it either. There are far worse out there.

I think I like it because it's so different. I don't want him to have the same name as anyone else...so impossible lol

As a person with a somewhat "different," name, I must speak for us poor children. It got mispronounced. It got odd eyebrow raises. I couldn't find a magnet with my friggin name on it. There were no positives. I would've appreciated if I had a normal name much more, and let my achievements and actions do the distinguishing for me.
This exactly.  I've said it before, but I don't understand the whole unique name thing.  My child can be perfectly special and wonderful without some off the wall name.

I don't like it. It seems too frou-frou and trendy for me. And I like feminine names for boys

  • Definitely NOT a fan...sorry! But the great thing is, it's your kid, so if you like the name then go for it. I personally love Landon for the first name (I may be slightly biased though ;) lol) and Pacey could be a middle name if you are just set on using Pacey!

  • I don't mind it for a baby but as some others have said, I don't know if I could picture an adult male introducing himself as Pacey :|
  • I didn't know if this was a girl or boy name at first. I'm a strong no. Sorry.

  • Think of your child's name on a resume. Would YOU hire a Pacey Landon? Or think of yelling at him to come in from playing outside. Would you be ok with yelling "PACEY GET YOUR BUTT INSIDE NOW!" all over your neighborhood?

  • I like Landon, not a fan of Pacey. Like others, I have a hard time picturing it as a name for an adult not just a child's nickname. But ultimately, it is your baby.

  • Not a fan, but not my kid. Don't let the opinions of internet strangers persuade you though if it's something you love. We don't have to say the kids name every day, you do.
  • You love it, so use it.

That said I'm not a fan of Pacey or Landon, but I wouldn't give it a major side eye.
  • I usually like unique names and I have to say I also thought it was a girls name when I read the title. It sounds better the longer I say it. I don't remember hating it when I watched Dawson's Creek so do what you want and who cares what others think.
  • Landon is a really good name.

  • If you love it I say go for it :)
  • Eek.  Reverse them and it would be okay.  Landon sounds like something I'd be proud to have on a business card.  Pacey, not so much.  Neither is particularly my style but Landon sounds less made up.
  • I don't like it, but I don't know you so it really doesn't matter what I think.
  • There are lots of names to choose from to make it different. Pacey-NMS.

  • Would you consider dropping the y? I could get behind Pace, but not Pacey. I used to watch the show, and I always thought it was a stupid name. Then again, I don't get the whole unique name trend. In my opinion, it just leads to a lot of made up, silly sounding names with no meaning behind them. I get not going with the trendiest name around--it would also suck to have 4 other people in your class with the same name, but your child will be both unique and not at all unique, no matter what you name him.
  • I don't hate it but I definitely thought it was a girls name. Switching the order or considering dropping the y so it's Pace is my only suggestion. But if you love it, go for it!

  • Not my taste in names
  • I really like the idea of swapping to Landon Pacey -- would that fit with your last name?  Landon is different but also classic, and then you still get your stylized pick of having Pacey in there somewhere, but without the downside of him having to introduce himself as Pacey when he becomes a grown man.  Seems like problem solved!

However -- I completely agree with @trollsniper and others: if you love it, you should absolutely just own it -- he's YOUR kid.  Andplusalso, all names can get made fun of, even the most common name in the world.  My husband's name was Matthew - common as can be - and he was called Fat Matt and a million other awful things that made his mom cry.  So don't necessarily let the potential for being made fun of make you give up a name you love.
