I'm no trained tech but looking at your 'pics' if the top left corner is of the bottom of your baby I say your looking at a boy! Again I am just saying this because it looks a bit familiar to my 16wk ultrasound where it was pretty clear I have a boy in my belly... Good luck with your little itty bitty and brush off the negative comments

I think you're lost. This is 2nd Trimester. And we shouldn't have to update stickies because asking untrained strangers on the internet to scrutinize your child's genitals is tasteless and in poor form and should be common sense. 



Yep not the right place, my bad. But you missed where I was agreeing that this should be written somewhere in the rules because apparently not everyone understands that strangers on the Internet are not usually ultrasound professionals. Updating stickies isn't just for newbies to know what to- or not to- post, it also helps us all to not have to see baby wangs and such.

It wouldn't matter if it was in the rules, people that don't bother to search for their answers in previous posts, want us to determine the sex of their unborn, and ask other such questions don't read the rules.

True true. It would only help with the people who do read the rules, which I was being naive to think that these people posting these photos probably read the stickies. I did, but I would never post baby genital photos on the Internet anywhere. Sooo, screw the stickies and lets just keep flipping out til everyone understands, which will probably be never. Not sarcasm.

Random question: ... how is it that people continue to see no issue with posting their children's genitals on the internet? If you wouldn't post a shot of your own on here for all of us to see, then I'm guessing you FOR SURE don't want us to see your child's. I mean, seriously... it's either a penis or labia... and neither one of those things should be posted on the internet outside of the porn world. Just saying...

If you don't even know if the pic is of "the bottom of her baby" how could you possibly begin to speculate about what may or may not be a penis? And posting pics of your kid's genitals is not just an ignorant newb mistake that's getting flamed because people are bored. It's disturbing. And it's people like you white-knighting the OP that perpetuates the idea that somehow this is ok and that strangers give a shit about another stranger's u/s picture.

Oh my goodness I said IF a big IF and as I also mentioned I am not a ultrasound tech so I was just taking a stab at it as it seems this is what the OP seems to be looking for in her post-responses.. besides people these are ultrasound pictures no where comparable to actual pics of your baby's genital area no one in their right mind would show actual pictures of that region AFTER their baby is born but we all show ultrasound pics to our family and friends! this is supposed to be a safe place to ask any question and hopefully get compassionate or supporting answers.. so what if a question has been asked a thousand times? if that mom is asking it then its her first time coming across it and she may want the answers/responses directed to her... so if you as a responder see similar questions just ignore them instead of going out of your way to make that mommy feel bad..

@estefyp4‌ I agree. You really can't compare an ultrasound picture to a real baby picture showing the sex of the baby. I've never been offended when my friends have showed me or have posted their u/s picture on social media announcing it's a boy or a girl, I honestly can't even tell the difference most of the time since I don't know what I am looking at; u/s pictures are pretty abstract. That being said, I respect the fact that maybe this community doesn't like this type of questions but there is no need to get all judgmental about it towards OP, who probably didn't mean to offend. Just my two cents.

An ultrasound is an image printed on a piece of paper.  Thus it is a picture.  Why do people keep saying an ultrasound is not a picture of their baby?  Why is it different because they aren't born yet? I'm sorry but an ultrasound printout of your unborn baby's junk is a PICTURE of your childs genitalia. Just because they are in your belly and not out breathing air doesn't make it anymore acceptable.  And frankly I don't find it cute.  I don't go around showing people my U/S pictures.  Only my immediate family has seen them.

My friend and I are both having boys. Never have we thought to share photos of our sons genitals with each other. It's fucking weird. I haven't shown ANYONE the photos with his penis on them. He's still my child, he still deserves that respect. I'm sorry you're all acting too dense to understand that.

I don't even feel right sharing an ultrasound pic (which btw IS A PIC OF YOUR INTERNAL ORGANS) with anyone other than immediate family and my best friend. Why anyone would be cool posting pictures specifically of their kid's junk online is beyond me.

Though to be fair these pics aren't specifically of the kids junk since it's too early for the kid to even have identifiable junk at this point. Sigh.

For the rest of you, please keep your bumps away from mine! All your negativity is TOXIC. We should embrace each other...jeez..For people who think an ultrasound to be offensive, you are weird and sick...really if you didn't have a guess, then don't freakin write anything....
