Re: CPW: Rule breakers

  • Isaac is due for lots of shots. It's not that I'm delaying or anti-vax. It's that I suck and I haven't gotten it done because when I try he's been sick or something. I seriously hate myself for it.

  • I guess he's always had a blanket. That's a rule I've broken. And @Byjove03 I don't really think that's too early to start solids so I don't think you broke a rule there, it depends on your pediatrician.
  • I was nursing in the passenger seat when we were stopped in a parking lot on a road trip. It was dark and we noticed it was a reserved spot after I had already started, so dh moved the car one spot over in less than 10 seconds while I was nursing. So car seat rule, I guess.

Dd has had a lovey in her crib since about 9 months, too.
  • B has slept on his belly with a blanket and lovey since we brought him home at 7 months. I've also left him in the car while loading/unloading in the driveway lots of times. It's less than 10 steps to our front door.

  • Ds had a lovey in his crib around maybe 7 months. He also slept on his belly, but rolled there on his own at 6 months.

Even though we were bf-ing our pedi said we could introduce solids at 4 months if he was showing signs of readiness.

  • I've left him in the car/stroller while I ran into the house to grab something or hook up the pup for a walk.  We let him belly sleep when he wanted to do so, he also slept on the couch in the beginning with us and without us.  He's been out of his car seat in a moving car in a parking lot, moving down a few spaces and in our marina lot, from the bathroom to our dock.

I haven't broken any of those rules or any other major rule that I can think of. I worry too much about safety. I still check to make sure he's breathing. I'm paranoid.

    Me too!

I've left him in the car to run back into the house to get something. No shame about it either.
I marked "none of these" but then realized there might be rules I don't see as rules.  I've left Leah in car while I ran inside house to grab something or while I unloaded stuff.  Never saw that as a no-go.
Nothing I feel bad about... I've definitely left Tess in the car/stroller to grab something quick or unload things if she's asleep.

We did baby led weaning, started at around 5 1/2 months, and rarely waited three days between new foods.

  • ain't no shame in my game. we are about 2-3 months behind on vaccines (she just got the 12 month vax last month) and she's slept with an A&A blanket since about 3 months.
  • I didn't realize I was such a rule-breaker.  I've definitely left DS in car in the driveway to run in to grab something or drop something off at the house a ton.  We didn't follow the baby led weaning rules very well either.  I did get uptight about the back sleeping stuff but only because of my own anxiety.
  • I think I broke my first major rule last night. H and I are both miserably sick. Addie woke in the night and I gave her a sippy of milk. After an hour, she still had about an ounce left and I put her in her crib with her cup. I feel terrible about it now. I went back 30 min later and she was finished with it and asleep so I took it.
  • No comment.  :)>-
  • Maggie only gets a bath once to twice a week. Flame away. She is simply, not very dirty. When she gets the rare diaper rash, we soak her butt in baking soda water for 10 min 1-2x a day. She gets her hands washed with soap multiple times a day, and face washed after every meal.

Her skin thanks me regularly ;)

  • Same here on the baths, eczema is terrible.
  • DS seems to have outgrown his eczema already, which is great, because he LOVES his bath. We only ever started taking a bath nightly because he needed more of a routine.
