I've been lurking for a few days and decided to introduce myself. I've gotta say I'm grateful for this community already. I've learned a lot.
My story: We've been TTC for 5 years and got pregnant from the 2nd round of IVF (technically 4th try, but only the 2nd time I made it to a retrieval). At our first ultrasound on 6w2d the tech saw the gestational sac and yolk but no fetal pole. The RE said it may have been late implantation and to come back back in a week. At the next ultrasound we saw the heartbeat (117), but the baby only measured 6w2d and the gestational sac only measuring 5w2d (it actually shrunk). We were told it most likely wasn't a viable pregnancy and to prepare for the worst. Today (8w2d) the baby measured 7w1d, the gestational sac hadn't grown, and the heartbeat dropped to 85. RE told us this would definitely result in a miscarriage. The RE gave me the option of a d&c or waiting for a natural miscarriage.
Our journey has been so difficult, and I always knew miscarriage was a possibility, but I really thought it was going to happen this time.
