Ours were always wrapped. I vaguely remember a big/difficult to wrap present one year for someone that was hidden with a note for where to find it, but can't remember if it was a Santa present or not. We'll wrap our kids Santa presents.
Santa gifts were wrapped growing up but my husbands family doesn't wrap Santa gifts so we don't as one year we are at their house for Christmas and the next we are at home. We assemble the gifts and have their stockings sitting on them
All our gifts were wrapped. We didn't really do "Santa gifts," my parents said they didn't want him getting the credit! Santa only brought us what was in our stockings and that typically wasn't wrapped.
When I was little all presents, except big awkward things like a bike, were wrapped. In DHs family gifts from Santa were not wrapped. I'm really torn because I love wrapping presents and how pretty they all look under the tree, but I'm envisioning many a late Christmas Eve having to finish wrapping presents and Santa gifts not being wrapped has its appeal.
We wrap most Santa presents. If there is ever anything big like a bike or a cozy coup or a barbie dream house, those will just get a bow on top in front of the fireplace.
