Baby bump already showing... Too soon?

Re: Baby bump already showing... Too soon?

• I'm definitely at the point where I'm hardcore jiggly (can no longer suck that thing in) but not pregnant looking. I haven't actually gained any weight, though, it's just pre-pregnancy jiggle getting shoved out.

My mom seems consistently floored that I'm still just wearing my normal clothes - I'm only 12 weeks! I got a Bellaband for wearing my skinny jeans on bloaty days, but they fit fine everywhere else still.

• Ive only gained a pound so far and I think half went to my butt and half went to my thighs. Im petite so it shows! My DH keeps telling me about my "bump" and I keep having to remind him that it is mostly just gas and food right now haha.

I've only gained 1 lb, but I am definitely noticing my stomach starting to pop, and I'm 12 wks 4 days. I don't think strangers would think I'm pregnant, I just look like I carry weight in my stomach. After I eat though.. man I look like I'm about 5 months pregnant :) haha

Same here at 12w3d! Yesterday the lady I nanny for was like, "OMG Meg, look at your cute little bump!" I couldn't help but laugh b/c I've also only gained 1lb. But things are def moving upwards, though I'm sure it's mostly organs shifting and gas. I'm pretty small to begin with, so it's pretty obvious to people who know me, regardless of what the "bump" is made of right now!
• Why are some of you ladies so against wearing maternity pants?! They are the most comfortable things and I've been wearing them for weeks and weeks already. Just get the damn maternity pants already! There is no sense in suffering with the "rubber band" and bella band nonsense. My maternity jeans feel like sweatpants people!

Seriously! I treated myself to some Paige maternity jeans and would live in them if I could.

I'm actually quite desperate to go out and buy some maternity pants that not only fit (unlike all my other pants now) but will continue to do so. However, we just found out the the $4000 or so we were counting on for this semester for DH isn't coming. That factored heavily into my feeling of our financial security, which made me feel more comfortable about having a baby now, and so I am feeling kind of freaked out about--well, everything.

• @Katerina&Baby‌ Amen! The Paige Denim maternity pants are the most amazing fat pants ever made. And will be so much more comfortable to wear in July with tanks without the belly band my old maternity jeans had. I justified the price by telling myself I'm saving by not having to buy jeans in a size up after baby arrives while I work my way back into pre-pregnancy pants.

I bought my first pair of maternity pants and thought "WHY AREN'T ALL PANTS STRETCHY AND HAVE A BELLY BAND". They are life changing. I don't know if I can wear regular jeans ever again.
I have two pair of Jag brand jeans and they are awesome. They are like a higher-end version of pajama jeans. No zipper or button, they just pull right on. They have enough give in them that I haven't had to buy any maternity jeans yet.

• Yep, I say it all the time and have said it before on here! I spent way too much time with a Bella band last time (like a whole 2 weeks before I tried my first pair of pants on and realized what I was missing!) and went right to the pants this time!
• I haven't been able to find maternity pants that fit. Even if I fold the band down, the waist is uncomfortably loose. But if I go a size down, they're too tight.

@ombradellarosa‌ someone made a thread about Burlington coat factory and the excellent prices on maternity clothes! Online if you don't have one local!

• I'm very petite and Whoaaa can you tell I'm pregnant at just 12 weeks. My husband keeps saying are you poking it out!? Lol NO!!
• My dad has started calling me "chub-chub". This is his own curious brand of affectionate, very silly teasing. It comes along with all manner of goofy accompaniments. I don't think I'm all that big yet, but I did make a comment about rounding out and he latched right onto it. :P

My DH calls me Chunky!! This was a pre-preg pet name as well.

• I've only gained 1 pound but I am 14 weeks and my jeans have gotten pretty uncomfortable these days. While I was shopping at Ross a couple of days ago, I discovered they have a small maternity section. Bought 2 pairs of skinny jeans that were super comfortable and fit perfectly - one was $11.99 and the other $13.99! Y'all may want to check it out : )
• FTM - I was petite to begin with but at 15w2d it's getting hard to cover up even in loose tops. If I wear fitted tops, everyone asks about the baby. Been in maternity pants for 2 weeks - bump is there from the moment I wake up until I go to bed.

Check local Facebook groups for people selling their maternity clothes. You can get them for cheap and they are usually still in good shape. Sorry you're having money troubles, that's super stressful.
Thank you. We've had money problems before, of course, but with the baby coming it worried me more than usual. It looks like we're going to make it out okay though, thanks for your concern. :)

Ooh yeah my friend used to pull me away from the maternity section at Ross. Now I can shop there if I want! Haha
