Frustrated with GD

I have been testing for a week now and my numbers are making me very confused. I started the diet plan and it hasn't changed how I am eating other than adding the snacks during the day. I have lightened my dinners as far as portion size. My numbers haven't been above 115 this whole week. I even had a shower today at work and ate a piece of chocolate cake with a bunch of frosting and tested one and a half hours afterward and was 118. I feel like maybe it was a mistake that my numbers were off on the three hour test. Anyone else have this happen?

Re: Frustrated with GD

  • My numbers were like that for 10 weeks. The day before Thanksgiving I was told they didn't think I had GD. And gave me the green light to eat what I wanted. So I did. They told me to check every now and then . So I did. And my numbers had been out of control. So after a week I put myself back on the diet. And it has taken them a week to get somewhat back to normal. I am still not where I was. I really wish they had never told me to eat what I wanted.

  • Yes, my after meal numbers are usually 110 and lower. I don't know if the test is wrong but it's a good diet to follow any way and my fasting numbers did creep up so that's where my problem was, which is not controlled by diet but with hormones so it means I definitely have it.

  • Thanks ladies. Its nice to know I am not the only one who has had this. I will stick pretty close to the diet no matter what since I am 33 weeks this week and really just want a smooth ride for the remainder.
  • After I was diagnosed with DD, my numbers were all good for the first week or so of following the diet.  I decided that there MUST have been a mistake.  I kept to the diet and suddenly, I had some wacky numbers that seemed to come out of nowhere... but really it was the pasta.  LOL.

At any rate, in a given week, I'd end up with one or two high numbers at some point and I decided that initially, it was just my denial, that was making me think it was a mistake.  Once I got over that, following the diet got a lot easier.
