2nd Labor times & Delivery, after 1st labor induction

Moms that were induced the first time around,  how was your second L&D?

Re: 2nd Labor times & Delivery, after 1st labor induction

  • I was induced with DS and it was over 24 hours before he was born. With DD I went into labor naturally and labored at home as long as I could, made it to the hospital at an 8, and she was in my arms less than an hour later.
    Night and day difference.

  • Induced with my first and he was born in 10.5 hours. My second was easier and was born in 8 hours but I had hardly any pain full contractions. My doctors were baffled. My contractions were reading really strong but I was still sitting in bed like nothing was going on.
  • All of my labors/births have been freakishly easy. My second was all of 47 minutes.

Any opinions as to why you think they were easy? Prenatal yoga? Perineal massage in advance? Using a doula?

    Teach us!! Lol.
  • I had really easy births too. First induced with pitocin, labor was just under 4 hrs from when they pushed the pit to when I was holding baby. I pushed 12 times, so maybe 10 minutes? Second labor I went into labor at home. From the time I realized I was having real contractions (not Braxton-Hicks) to holding baby was about 6.5 hours. Again, I pushed for about 10 minutes. It would have been faster, but my OB showed up while I was pushing (SNAFU in their paging him), so I held off while he was getting his stuff on.
