Hello, Just curious as to what the standard is for Ultrasounds. We went through a Fertility Treatment Center and after our 4th treatment had success. If any of you have gone through an FTC you are familiar with all the appts you have. We had a total of 4 ultrasounds at the FTC to make sure the baby's progress was good. After the 4th Ultrasound you are instructed to find an OB. We got some referrals and made an appt with one that is close and delivers at the hospital we want. Since i am switching OB's i need to have a new patient appt first. This apt is weeks out. We have tried getting something sooner, but they do not have anything. At my last ultrasound i was almost 10 weeks. I am currently approaching 14 weeks and i am beyond worried about not seeing my baby. The new OB office informed me that they will not do an ultrasound unless the Doctor requests for one and if they do we will have to go back for it. I had no morning sickness or anything and have been 100% healthy, but not being able to see that the baby is alive and kicking scares me. I just need reassurance and it seems like it is just typical for the new OB not to perform one.
Appreciate any feedback this group might be able to share as i feel helpless.
Re: What is standard for how often Ultrasounds are done?
I know that it's tough to wait, but fewer ultrasounds is a good thing!
