QOTW: What childhood holiday traditions do you want to carry on with your LO?

Thanks for taking this over @sonpetitlapin; it is hard to believe I am posting here.  Beta 2 was yesterday and looked good at 1055 which is a doubling time of 42 hrs.  I am still really nervous and PGAL brain has me fairly cautious.  We are going to the inlaws for a holiday trip next week and it is going to be interesting trying to hide it.  We are just not ready to tell families till we see a heartbeat.

I'm trying to hold off on sharing the news until we hear a Doppler heartbeat (hopefully this coming Monday). Still pretty close to symptomless 'round these parts -- still trying to remain calm about it.

QOTW: New PJs on Christmas Eve (the one gift that is opened before Christmas day). And I second @tlc35's tradition of decorating the tree as a family (while listening to the Boney M Christmas Album, of course!).

@tmorash That is one of my childhood traditions too: opening PJs on XMas Eve. I carried it on with my kids too. I always loved going to bed in new warm PJs

Hi Ladies - 

We are 33+3.  No major updates here other than getting bigger (I sense this will be an ongoing theme from now until I deliver!).  Nursery is getting closer to done.  And my house is being overrun with Amazon boxes as we order stuff we need.

Met with 2nd pediatrician today.  We liked her a lot - and while we also liked the first one we met, I think we are going with her since there are more pros with her.  One more thing to check off the list.

QOTW: this is a tough one.... DH is Jewish (not religious at all though - and I didn't convert).  For whatever reason even though he isn't religious, he is opposed to a tree in our house.  I did get him to agree (long before we ever got married) that if we ever had kids, we could have a tree - smaller one, not huge.  My favorite thing was decorating the tree with my family but not sure if we will do that since it depends on how strongly against it he feels.  FWIW - I have said we should also celebrate Hanukkah - but he has no interest in that (bought a Menorah last year since we hosted Tgiving when the holiday fell, and my niece/nephew were learning about it in school).  When we were cleaning the closet last month he was ready to throw it out!  I told him no - it is a nice one and we should keep it. Again - he really isn't religious, so I don't get the anti-tree.  My family is Indian - so for us Xmas is about family, tree, etc, not religion.

19 days until my first appt.  I am on pins and needles waiting.  @tmorash I feel you with the long wait.  It still seems like forever. 

Symptom wise it's sore boobs, constant peeing, bloat, exhaustion, and I think maybe nausea may be starting to set in.  The last one could be wishful thinking, but I was just feeling off this afternoon.

QOTW:  Advent calendars, one present Christmas Eve, and Decorating the tree while watch National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.  The last one will actually get to happen this year.  The leaky pipe and the wall where the pipe was have all been fixed.  They are going to paint after Christmas, so no new carpet until the new year.  This means we get to put furniture back and can put up the tree.  I am so unbelievably happy about that.  I've got my weekend set.

@Lady2010 That's tough when he is not very involved in his religious traditions but not wanting to participate in yours.  I know several Jewish families who have trees up during the holidays.  Maybe once you LO comes he will want to do more of the family aspect of holiday celebrations.

@tlc35 so glad you got to join me so soon.

Hi ladies! I'm finally feeling human again at nearly 18 weeks. i was awake until 11:30pm last night and woke up relatively easily at 6:45am this morning - woohoo!

Planning to work most of the weekend but also to enjoy this energy. 

@lcwed  decorating a tree is a pagan tradition, which makes it absolutely perfect for a family like mine (we're all a mix of all kinds of religions and ethnic backgrounds).

QOTW: Ski trips. I just need to find some more quaint mountains that haven't been taken over by fancy resorts but still respect the tradition of mountain chalets where everyone pitches in to make dinner and the actual runs aren't covered with sponsorship logos (and, lodging and ski passes don't cost an arm and a leg).

Hi ladies! I am 35 weeks today! Dr took my cerclage out last Thursday and predicted a week for little girl to come. I have had contractions on and off since 29 weeks and last time he was afraid I would rip cerclage. I'm pretty much waiting for labor. I was induced with DS so this is interesting! Lol...so glad to see other graduates. Thinking about you ladies and cheering you all on !
