QOTW: 1) She's not quite 18 months, so....I doubt it?  2) I found out about Santa when I was in first grade.  I learned it from a classmate who also told me where babies came from that year (she had 7 siblings and a very small house).

CD 5!  

We celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas at my home which is always AWESOME for everyone!  My girls still totally believe in Santa and our elf (as of right now my 3 year old is getting only coal).  I can't remember when I found out but I have a dick older brother who I'm sure told me way to young.

2) I think around 6, I was really young because my sister is 5 years older and she hates fun.

QOTW: we knew there was no santa, our parents ruined that idea when we were newborns. we were "those" kids that ruined it for other kids. "there is no santa, it's just your parents wrapping presents"

as a parent now i see how awful that was, let the kids imagine the magic! the wonder! we are totally letting K believe in Santa. forever.

Okay well now @Jodee37 makes me feel like a crappy parent My child does not believe in Santa. He's freakin' terrified of him actually so we explained it was a person dressing up as Santa and he was scared of someone coming into our house so he knows Santa is mommy and daddy. Christmas is still magical to him though. He's loving it. Especially decorating. We have talked to him about not sharing with others who Santa is. I've had this worry about him ruining it for other kids.

2) If you did when you were a child, how old were you when you were told or figured it out?

I figured out the tooth fairy wasn't real when I was 6 or 7 because it had the same hand writing as my mom. And then figured out the rest from there. I sure to pretend for awhile after that even still. My brother told me don't tell I knew or I wouldn't get as many presents.

Cycle status: waiting for first post-m/c AF. Today I'm having a pelvic MRI to see if I have a uterine septum. My RE doesn't think so, but a radiologist I saw at the ER during my M/C noted it in his report, so off I go to the big white tube of magnetic waves or whatever... I'll keep you posted when I get the results.

QOTW: DS is 3 and he definitely believes in Santa. He told me he saw reindeer tracks on our neighbor's roof (I think they were squirrel tracks, but we're going with reindeer). When I figured out the Santa thing, I was probably 8 or 9. I'm an oldest child, so I got to hang onto my illusions a little longer. 

And now the reference to losing my illusions has me thinking about GNR...

Thank you! As of yesterday, 8 were mature (largest at 20) and 3 were at 14, which may or may not catch up.  Given my age and bloodwork, my RE was hoping to get ~8 eggs at retrieval, so I think I'm on track.

@davie813 yeah with my AMH (even tho i'm a little younger than you) my RE said he'd be happy with 5-10, and we got 9 (7M). stupid amh. I'm hoping they find an extra 2 or 3 in there!!! keep us posted!

CD4 Saline sono Friday to look for polyps. I don't know if I should hope there are polyps or that it is normal. 

DS is 3 and he believes in Santa. I think my mom told me Santa wasn't real when we were going to be away for Christmas one year and she had to sneak back into the house and put out the presents so my younger sister would still believe. I think I was maybe 10.

QOTW: I do not know if he really grasp the concept of Christmas yet but he loves to sit on Santa's lap and look at the lights.

I think I was 5 or 6 and my brother (7 yrs older) said we had to sit in the car so mom and dad could put out the presents from Santa (we were always up north at Christmas) my other brother and sister promptly smacked him but it was to late. I never got to experience the tooth fairy.

QOTW: Yup! DS is three and super jazzed about Santa/Christmas. I found out from a friend when I was 9. Although my brother was 8 years older, he really wanted to keep magic alive.

6 dpo of last ditch iui. Starting to lose my appetite out of sheer terror. Bristol definitely believes! She's 4.5, so I hope we have a few more years. This is a good thing about 2IF, is she will be old enough to say to, "don't tell your sibling" and she'll hopefully get it. Keep the magic alive because being an adult is the worst. I honestly don't remember when I stopped believing. I am the oldest...I want to say I was 9, 10 maybe?

On BCPs hoping to do an FET of our lone frosty in January.  I am already feeling defeated about this.  I'm pretty much just feeling defeated by infertility.

QOTW:  My daughter (2.5 years old) believes in Santa!  I love it!  I am so excited for Christmas!  I do not remember when I stopped believing in Santa but I was pretty young.

5 dpiui. I have pretty much written this cycle off so I am hoping that will keep be from becoming obsessive over phantom symptoms.  

QOTW:  My DD is 3.5 and she kind of gets the concept of Santa but we don't really talk about it too much.  I don't ever remember believing in Santa.  I'm the youngest of 4 so either my siblings ruined it for me at an early age or my parents didn't really do the Santa thing.  I have never really asked haha! I totally remember telling kids Santa wasn't real in like 2nd or 3rd grade.

1) Yes, and I take no credit for this.  We never really talked about the Santa concept with him and I kind of felt bad planting that lie in his head.  He picked it up at preschool though, so we're taking advantage of it and using the threat of fewer gifts on Christmas day to get him to behave a little better.  It feels wrong every time I do it and I don't want to turn him into a present-hungry monster but it seems safe enough this year since the only thing he has requested for Christmas is cake and ice cream.  And things that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.

2) I did but I picked up on the lie very young.  I think I was about 4 when I noticed that Santa's wrapping paper was the same as our wrapping paper and didn't buy my mom's explanation.

I got 9, too. I hope at least a couple of them are good....

Now we just wait for the fretilization report tomorrow. We did go ahead with the icsi, but I'm nervous!

Cycle Status: Nothing new, hoping for pre-IVF testing in January for IVF/ICSI #4, trying to figure out a way to talk DH into another PESA procedure, which is very tough.

QOTW: No Santa in our home, I grew up Jewish, DH celebrates Christmas but was raised without Santa so in our household there is no Santa on Chrissmanukah.  We make sufganiyot which are tasty fried and filled treats that are doughnut like, we fill ours with vanilla pudding

I'm on hiatus until my appointment with a new RE in late January.
No Christmas in our house since the only religious holidays we observe are Jewish ones. We light the menorah and say the blessings on each of the 8 nights and have s family party with latkes at my FIL and SMIL's house on the Sunday of Hannukah. I make and decorate Hannukah cookies (a basic sugar cookie) cut with a Star of David cookie cutter and decorated with blue sugar. I also make sweet potato latkes for thr holiday.

Hi - IUI #4 was yesterday.  Now we are in the 2ww. 
our kids do believe and it is so much fun.  We have a Elf and did the Polar Express train ride.

I got the call this morning--all 9 of the eggs retrieved yesterday were mature, and all 9 fertilized (nice work, DH's sperm!).  My RE wants to do a 5-day transfer on Monday.

CD1  :-(

DS is 5 and he believes.  I am concerned that one of the older kids at school will be mean and make fun of him and ruin it.  But, I am hoping he'll hang on to the belief for several more years.  I had figured when he got older and stopped believing (insert Journey music) he'd help maintain the illusion for our next LO and would get to continue the fun that way... but that is looking less and less likely.  I guess we could get a Christmas miracle, but I'm not feeling very optimistic today on yet another CD1.

Well my saline sono did show a polyp. RE isn't convinced that is the root of our problems because it is small but says it has to come out anyway. He said we can try to get pregnant this month on our own and then to call him next month on CD1 to schedule a hysteroscopy to remove the polyp (obviously he isn't very optimistic this cycle will work since he is already asking for a phone call when my period starts again!).

Right around O time, last natural cycle before we try iui.

QOTW: DS is 5 and believes. I think this is the first year he has really felt the Santa "magic" and our current problem is that he thinks Santa will bring everything in the world so all we've heard for a month now is "I want ___" or "Santa will bring ___." We need to have several serious chats about the reason for the season.

I figured it out pretty early on, but my parents and I never really talked about it. I think it was my mom's handwriting that tipped me off. I think DS will pick up on stuff like that so we're going to have to be very careful!
