What was the first drink you ever had and at what age? I probably first had an amaretto stone sour when I was legal. 

Ever use a fake ID back in the day? I always looked young and was way too goody-two-shoes to consider it.

What adult beverage did you over do first ("I swear I will never drink this much again!")?  I alternately pounded red wine and vodka at a party and had the worst hangover of my life the next morning. Evidently I ran around pronouncing that I was frisky. But I still had to work the next day. I never drank that much (or that combination) again.

I had Alize and Hennessy. I was 16 with my friends. I got so drunk and had the worst hang over the next day. I literally thought I was going to die. Let's just say that was the last time I drank until 19 with my ex-husband and that was in extreme moderation.

Nope.  Not saying I was a goody goody, I was consuming alcohol under 21.  But I wasn't going to get busted and go to jail with a fake ID.  It was great having a husband old enough to buy liquor.  I went to buy my first alcoholic beverage on my 21st birthday at the store and they didn't card me!!

Anything with Vodka

At home: vodka and cranberry.  Out Long Island Ice Teas

I don't get hung over on vodka.  But I drink plenty of water as the reason for hang overs is dehydration.

You are suppose to eat when drinking?  Anything, no favorites. Unless it is wine then a nice cheese, grapes, nice meat like porchetta and crackers

I did not know this until a nurse asked if I drank vodka because I am diabetic.  But vodka is suppose to be the easiest drink to process and least sugary drink for a diabetic.  It is diabetic friendly.

Shots in general.  One of the 3 times in my life I’ve thrown up from drinking.  Some guy gave me 17 (or was it 19) shots in an hour… yeah… that backfired.  Combination of tequila and other shots and shooters.

Agree with @KirstenAlecia- love fireball.  But the one that usually gets me is just plain ole Jack and Coke

I think I’ve been hung over a total of 30 minutes in my life… and even that is questionable.  Yeah.. people hate me.  I drink lots of water while I drink but my favorite after drinking a lot is Taco Bell or Waffle House

Coffee…   But Alcohol related would be Godiva Liquor or Baileys

In Virginia if you have over a certain amount of liquor in your car it’s bootlegging if you don’t get a license to carry it from the ABC store (which is free) even if you bought it from the ABC store and didn’t make it.  You can only make wine and beer up to a certain point for personal consumption unless you have a license.  Contrary to popular belief in Southwest Va no amount of moonshine is legal (but it tastes good… don’t eat the fruit)

@vh2012 HA! I thought that was why.  SO did a large mason jar filled with fruit soak in vodka for a week. Whew!!!! WOW  Talk about the fruit soaking up all the alcohol and it was so strong!

What was the first drink you ever had and at what age?  I had sips of my dad's beer and stuff in childhood but my first real drink was when I was 20 at the VFW.  My friend's mom got me an amaretto sour.

MMMMMMM vodka soaked watermelon........yummiest thing at my bothers last BBQ and at New Years we do a liquer soaked pineapple, i wish i remembered what it was that its soaked with.

With the same friend (I was 20), She used to go to the bouncer standing at the door first, then pass her same ID around her back to me and I would use it. Lol you would think they would have caught on seeing how they were seeing the exact same ID 2x in a row!

When you cheers someone you should always look them in the eye. Legend has it, back in the days of the Vikings they would poison each other's drinks. So a way they would test it is to smash their drinks together so their beer ( or whatever they drank) would fall into each other's cups. Then they would look the other person in the eye as they drank as a sign of trust.

First drink? My dad used to let me sip his beer when I was 4. I only ever had one sip as I didn't like it. First real drink - piña colada bought for me by my parents in Mexico when I was 17. I promise they were generally not bad parents.

Fake ID? Never had one.

Adult beverage adversion: I cannot drink Long Island iced teas or Sangria after drinking them both the same night once and dry heaving the rest of the night.

My weakness: Margaritas.

Favorite hangover remedy: prevention. 16 oz of water and 2 Tylenol before going to sleep.

Hot cocoa with peppermint schnapps.

Eggnog with Bailey's.

Additional favorite holiday drinks? Hot buttered rum.

Favorite food and drink pairing? The classic foie gras and Sauternes. More readily accessible: wine and cheese.

Random fact: Chateau D'Yaquim in Bordeaux has crystal decanters stored in their cellars. They were sent there by Czar Nicholas II to be filled with Chateau D'Yaquim wine, but then the Bolshevik Revolution happened and the royal family fell before the wine could be returned to Russia. The decanters are still there in case a relative emerges to claim them.

@kristenAlecia we had several different types of fruit.  Watermelon, Pineapple, Plums, Grapes, Apple, Orange, Kiwi, strawberries

We would be at the store and he would just see something and add it in. My favorite was the pineapple (best fruit for soaking up alcohol) and grapes.  The others, mainly it was a texture issue for me.  The strawberries was leached of their color.  That messed with my head. Plums were not to bad.

Nikolie93 cherries...yum... we soaked some in brandy a few years ago.  Delicious... but fruit has the sneak up on you effect.  You forget alcohol is involved. 

KirstenAlecia Vodka soaked watermelon was a big thing when I was in HS.  I never had it but now am thinking spiked watermelon sounds like it will show up at my birthday next summer... unless I can't drink then (FX).  DH loves watermelon... so maybe even if I can't.   Going to have to try the pineapple too.  Might try it with coconut rum.  Wonder if that would be like a pina colada snack... Christmas party around the corner, sounds like an experiment.

@vh2014 the cherries were delicious. It helped I was already a little tipsy, it took some of the strong taste out of it lol

- I honestly don't remember. If you ask my parents, they'd tell you it was a strawberry daiquiri and a sip of beer on my 21st birthday, but that was definitely not my first drink seeing as how others were buying me alcohol for years before that...

- For me, if I'm more than likely to get a hangover, it usually ends with me puking so I don't generally need the remedy. But orange gatorade and advil is what I go with if I do have a hangover.

We tried to make mulled wine the other day and either it is gross or we didn't make it right. On the Korbel tour in Sonoma they told us that WI consumes about 80% of the Korbel Brandy produced - they specifically called out anyone from WI to thank us. lol. I definitely do my share.

Other favorite adult beverages around the holidays? I make a batch of honey-mulled cider in the crock, and spike it with spiced rum. I also like to make bourbon slush, which is a citrusy bourbon slurpee. It's refreshing and not too boozy.

How about favorite food and drink pairing? Count me in as another dirty martini fan. My favorite meal is a Hendrick's dirty martini, some briny raw oysters, and a medium rare filet mignon.

Any random alcohol related trivia you want to share? Wassail is a spiked cider punch, and the term "wassailing" comes from a Southern English tradition of drunken caroling on Twelfth Night to ensure a good apple harvest the following year.

@WinoGrrl‌ oh yes...it's best with fresh ruby red grapefruit juice. Here's how you make it...pour some Hendricks (shot or so) over ice in a short cocktail glass, add half shot st. Germaine (or mix with ice in martini shaker to chill and strain into martini glass) then put about 1-2 shots of fresh grapefruit juice (little goes long way) and top with prosecco "floater" (the prosecco is totally optional, but fun festive and yummy).
I have no idea what it's called...but it should be called heaven bc that's what it is

Mmmm...speaking of grapefruit, I love a mimosa with grapefruit juice instead of OJ. When I have my girlfriends over, I do a mimosa bar. Cava and sparkling cider (for mocktail mimosas), then grapefruit, pomegranate and mango juice as mixers. Plus a Bloody Mary bar - my homemade mix, garnishes like dilly beans or olives, and a choice between vodka and tequila.
