First, let me start by apologizing for how little I've been around lately.  I've been doing a lot of post and run kinda check-ins.  Life is a little hectic right now...hoping everything calms down after the holidays and I'll be around more for advice and support!

I'm on CD...ummm maybe 23?  I seem to be ovulating like a champ and my natural cycles are 28 days on the dot so DH and I have just been HIO when we can.  No charts, temping, appointments or OPKs.  The break has been nice but I'm antsy to get started again after the first of the year!

QOTW: Me and Bobby McGee (Janis Joplin), Shake Ya Ass (Mystikal)The Thunder Rolls (Garth Brooks). Sing For the Moment (Eminem), Meet Virginia (Train)

  • Hi guys! Thanks for posting @AnnaClaire256!

I have some good news-- went to my CD 12 u/s today, and lefty (open tube side) had a nice big follicle (24.5 mm)! I'm so pumped we will get to do IUI #2 this month :). So I triggered at 8pm tonight and will go in for the IUI Wednesday morning.

QOTW: What a fun question! I don't keep many songs on my iPhone so I used my computer iTunes. 1) Walk this Way by Aerosmith
    2) Respect by Aretha Franklin
    3) Something by the Beatles
    4) Glass Onion by the Beatles
    5) Meet Me Halfway by the Black Eyed Peas

  • @BlueFairy5‌ Those visual disturbances are the worst! I get what I call "clomid eyes" every cycle. It's mostly tracers and what I explain as "stuttered vision." It's especially bad when I'm in a dark room/outside at night and see bright lights. I haven't taken clomid in a few months and the weird visual disturbances are finally gone. My RE wasn't that concerned...evidently it's fairly common especially on higher doses.

Hopefully you're past it now! Good luck with your me RE!

  • I had my mid cycle scan yesterday.  I had 5 mature follicles this month!  Big improvement from last month!  I triggered last night and will have an IUI today and then tomorrow morning.

@bluefairy5, sorry you've had the visual disturbances, I haven't ever had that, but can imagine that it's no fun. :(

@luchich and @bandM14, good luck this cycle!

QOTW:   1. Settle Me Down - Zac Brown Band
    2. Haven't Met You Yet - Michael Buble
    3. Drink a Beer - Luke Bryan
    4. Marry Me - Train
    5. All I Want for Christmas is you - Michael Buble

  • @AnnaClaire256 I hope things calm down for you soon, thanks for posting!

@BandM14 that's so exciting, good luck!

I'm on CD 9 with two doses of Clomid still to take (anyone else given it for 7 days instead of 5?  it's only 50mg).  Luckily I haven't had any issues (knock on wood) with mood swings or hot flashes.  The only thing is that after I take the pill I get a raging headache.  I usually take some aleve or ibuprofen to knock it down.  Anyone else get headaches from Clomid?  It is listed as a potential side effect.  Anyway, I go in for my mid-cycle ultrasound Thursday afternoon.  I'm not sure which I'm more worried about - not responding or over responding...we shall see.

QOTW - Fun one! And wow there's some random stuff in my music library....

    1. "Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid" Hall & Oates
    2. "Sleep Through the Static" Jack Johnson
    3. "Baby You're a Rich Man" The Beatles
    4. "It Don't Have to Change" John Legend
    5. "Imaginary Player" Jay Z

  • @AnnaClaire256 - love me some Mystikal, especially that song. Takes me back to 2000.

@BlueFairy5 - keep growing follies, my RE told me to take the baby aspirin until the day of IUI and it helped my lining. FX your lining increases and for Saturday.

@luchich - wow, those are great SA numbers. I have everything crossed for you.

    **Warning - OPP mentioned***
AFM, in the 2WW...just waiting. I did have pink progesterone leakage and called the RE. He said it was irritation to the cervix so nothing to worry about. I draw my betas on 12/18. The progesterone SE have made me want to stay in bed, watch lifetime & hallmark christmas movies and do absolutely nothing. I do have my friends baby shower this Saturday so we'll see how sappy I get. At least I'm busy with creating her candy station.

  • @lovegrilledcheese Goodluck with this cycle! FX that IUI #1 does the trick for you!

@BlueFairy5 I'm glad that your vision seemed better. Sorry about the decreased lining, but good news on the follie growth. My lining was a little thin at trigger yesterday (7.5, last month it was 9.8) so I was actually thinking about running out after work today and getting some red raspberry leaf tea to chug down before my IUI tomorrow, but maybe I'll skip it. Also, I haven't heard anything negative about baby aspirin but maybe just ask the doctor to see what he says? If he just poo poos it you could still take it, unless he gives you some valid reason why it could be harmful.

@luchich WOW on YH's numbers! That's exciting, FX for you.

@cm312rn holy follicles, five is a lot. Good luck!

@murrt it's good that work is keeping you busy enough that the TWW is going by quickly, but hopefully it calms down soon so you can relax a little. Good luck with betas on Sunday!

@amlrunner good luck with the Menopur and the upcoming IUI. Hopefully the timing works around your husband's trip!

@shafwilson good luck at your u/s on Thursday, I hope you responded well to the meds and get some good news.

@lindy04aggie "RI" haha, I like it. Hopefully the two weeks goes by quickly and you get a nice surprise at the end!

@deelopi9 Good luck at the shower this weekend, I know that will probably be hard. Also, we both had "meet me halfway" pop up-- I hadn't heard that song in forever but I've actually had it in my head since last night when I did the shuffle! Damn those catchy Black Eyed Peas tunes.

  • HI Everyone!

As much as I was dreading the bench aftermy 4 failed clomid cycles, this cycle has done WONDERS for my overall mental state!  For the first time in a long time, fertility wasn't a daily discussion with my husband and I've seriously enjoyed not driving to the RE office!  Just the break I needed before moving to injectables next round!

QOTW:  Hope you're ready for this ridiculous mix!

Jizz in My Pants - The Lonely Island (they are hysterical!)

  • IUI #2 was cancelled d/t my body deciding it wanted to O before I have my mid cycle u/s. We did have TI but I have no idea how the timing was. I am pretty bummed as I am on the highest dose of Gonal F and 100% OOP. So meds are pretty expensive for us each cycle. I had probably the worst experience so far with this IF journey on Fri when I was given conflicting info from different staff at the RE office and I had to drive 6 hours total that day for labs, etc.

I spoke with my Dr yesterday and they will be doing a Root Cause Analysis on the situation to make sure it doesn't happen again or happen to anyone else. Biggest lesson I learned is I should have stood up and advocated for myself more. I thought that is what we are paying these people thousands of dollars for but whatevz.

Good luck to everyone else in the TWW or with your IUI's! I am rooting for you all.

@lovegrilledcheese‌ good luck with IUI #1. This is my first as well.

@BlueFairy5‌ sorry for the BFFN. I hate Clomid. Hope the visual disturbances resolve soon. Hope the lining gets better.

@BandM14‌ nice follie! Hope Wednesday goes well.

@luchich those sound like great numbers. GL 12/22. My beta is 12/20, also hoping for a Christmas miracle.

@cm312rn‌ wow, 5 follies! Good luck.

@murrt‌ good luck with betas on Sunday. Always good to stay occupied in the 2WW.

@amlrunner‌ good luck with the Menopur.

@shafwilson‌ hope the follies look good on Thursday. I've only ever done 5 day Clomid courses so no help there.

  • Hi all!

I am currently in the 2WW after a canceled IUI due to early ovulation on Letrozole (was supposed to be my first) early this week. I test on the 22nd-will probably POAS before going in for a beta.

Still a little bummed about the cancelation but trying to look on the bright side. Ready to kick 2014 to the curb and start fresh in 2015 (or actually the end of 2014...).

  • Tww on 4diui. Nothing too exciting. First cycle with a trigger. We tried the red bull and mh count was actually lower than last month. We also waited 3 days after dtd maybe it was too much time? I can test around the 23rd. Not feeling very optimistic about this cycle. I think I am still bummed about the last one.

  • Sorry that I am late to the party! I am 13dpo and will go for my beta tomorrow. Not feeling very optimistic , but this 2WW hasn't been nearly as bad (like I've been beat down so much, that I could never expect the BFP). Sigh. I have been very busy and we have started the process for adoption! Submitted our application and had our first home visit last night! We are super excited and know there will be another lengthy wait, but approximately one year is like a walk in the park compared to the past 4 years of TTC! Lol! I have to say once we get fully into the adoption process (I guess that's now) I will need to move on frthis great group! I have been trying to explore the adoption board, but do not get the supportive feeling as I do over here. That makes me sad. Anywhere, QOTW. I'm embarrassed to admit but I don't even own an iPod! I only really listen to the radio or at times cd's. Sorry I'm boring! Lol

  • @redandblue everything crossed for beta tomorrow!  Every cycle adoption has always been a part of the discussion. I think the question is how far are you willing to go and it's different for everyone.

@bluefairy5 I'm beginning to despair that this darn thing is ever going to be out of my system.  It took forever for my betas to go to zero after my loss, despite an ultrasound showing nothing in the ute after I took the drugs.  Maybe I just clear that shit slowly.

  • Got my beta results today: BFN. I didn't test at home before beta and I can't decide if it helped or not. It did delay the sadness, but it just replaced it with a few days of symptom spotting and painful hope. I decided I needed pizza and wine so my husband is out getting both of those for us. I know he's hurting too, but he jumps at any chance to make me feel better. At least I have him... I may never get a baby but I try to remember that there was a time when I thought I'd never get a husband. So I'm trying to be grateful for what I have.

My husband was diagnosed with state IV colon cancer in 2009. Surgery and six rounds of chemo left him in remission (yay!) but with low testosterone. He took Androgel for two years starting in Jan 2011.
-SA in Jan 2013: big fat zero; stopped Androgel
    -varicocelectomy in June 2013
-SA in Dec 2013: 23mil/ml, really low morph

  • Quick update.  BFN for me today too :(  I knew it was going to be, and like I mentioned previously we have moved on to explore adoption, but I have to say it still made me sad.  This process makes me sad.  But I am optimistic about being able to consider adoption and moving on that way.  That and booking a tropical trip in January!

Thank you @bluefairy5, @shafwilson for your comments on allowing me to stick around even if I do go down the adoption route!  I truly appreciate that.  I will probably stick around if that's cool.  I do believe this is such a great supportive group of gals!

Hugs to you @moto611 for your BFFN today too.  Wine and pizza to you!  The silver lining to the negative is the wine and beer.

nikiswimr    I agree about deciding how long you are willing to continue with TTC and make the move to adoption.  We are in a state of limbo.  Moving forward with the long adoption process and possibly doing one more cycle of IUI.  I believe what is meant to be will be.

  • Thanks everyone for all the hugs and wine!! I no longer think IUIs are going to work for us, but I'm pushing forward with one more in December because my insurance covers 6 IUIs 100%. I've hit my annual max so it's truly completely free, and that's hard to turn down, even if it doesn't have much chance of working. After that, I'm really not sure what to do because my husband is against IVF.  @redandblue I'm really trying to be like you and tell myself that whatever is meant to be will be, but I'm not quite there yet, I'm still just mad/sad. We might explore adoption but I think we'd keep TTC while going through the process, because we haven't quite given up all hope. I almost wish we had though - that tiny silver of hope seems to do nothing but cause me pain.

  • @moto611‌ - I'm so sorry about the BFN. I wish the hope didn't cause you pain, but I understand. Nothing about this process is fair. We just started the adoption process and are still actively trying (or will be once we are off the bench). We hope to create a family through both adoption and pregnancy. After a few failed IUIs, we figured why wait? Working on the adoption stuff has made the break go quicker, and I feel less anxious about our IF in general.

It seems like there are a few of us working on adoption or at least considering it (@redandblue). I wonder if we could start a thread or check-in of sorts so we could still get the amazing support of 3T while pursuing this alternative? Thoughts? I haven't been around long enough to know if that's kosher.

    1. Where are you at in the IUI process? 2WW
    2. Which IUI are you on? 1
    3. Test/Beta day? 12-17

We don't have an IF "issues" per say but can't seem to BD when we need to, DH has low libidio:(

Also I PAOS on Friday (D10PIUI) and got a BFN, I was having mild cramping pain on D8 and D9PIUI so maybe implantation pain and I just tested to early?

  • mshandlebar I think that is a great idea, if it is allowed.  I'm new-ish around here too and don't know the etiquette of these things.  I'm trying to get support from the adoption board, but I don't feel it's the same as over here.  Maybe that is selfish.  I also don't know if there is a way to add a different board?  Like I feel that there are so many different boards for people in different stages of TTC, but with adoption there is just one board, but so many different types of adoption and people at very different stages in the process.  @nariadreaming or mshandlebar said would people be okay if that was some how added to a check?  Thoughts?
