At what age did you start allowing your LO to have hard candy?

Someone in the stocking stuffer thread mentioned the Lifesaver book and I realized that, besides suckers, ds has never had hard candy. He just turned 4 last week.

I'm paranoid about it too. He knows he isn't allowed to have it yet so he declines if it is offered. I was thinking about letting him try it, but he choked on a grape yesterday so I think I might wait.

I would definitely make him sit at the table if i have him one though.
