Good morning lovelies! Some changes around here. First, I’m taking over this check-in from here on out. Many thanks to the fabulous @PinkCamino for leading it in past weeks. Second, we are trying out the new check-in format that was discussed on the boards last week. The Multiple Loss Ladies check-in will now be posted the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month. Please do NOT update the old check in after the week of the check in has gone by. If you need anything from me between check ins, please PM me.

((Hugs)) all around ladies!!

QOTW: Costa Rica was my favorite. I want to go back so bad!!!

@megrae12 Yes, darn those Hs and their bad timing! ((Hugs)) to you. My H decided to broach the topic of adoption with me THE DAY AFTER I'd been in the ER for my last miscarriage. I was still hormonal and bleeding and he was like, "Let's talk about adoption." Um, no. Maybe some other time, but right now? Just no.

Good morning @bookishmama! Thanks so much for taking over the check-in. And thanks to @pinkcamino for being a great leader for the past few weeks.

My RE appointment had to be rescheduled til this week, due to work nonsense. It is tomorrow morning, and for some reason I'm pretty nervous. Hopefully they can help me work out a plan of attack going forward.

For some reason, I'm already over this cycle (even though I haven't even O'd yet). I think the holidays are really getting to me, and I'm just ready to be finished with 2014.

ETA: Forgot the QOTW! My favorite place is Big Sur in California. It is one of the most breathtakingly beautiful places I have ever visited.
  • @leloyd Ugh, I'm sorry your body is not cooperating. I hope being off the pills helps.

@mrspipp I think a lot of us are ready to be done with 2014! GL at your RE appointment tomorrow.

@jj32 If it were me, I'd call. I know I'm already "that girl," in terms of annoying the people at my clinic. I think a call is warranted. You never know if the test is ready and someone just forgot to review it or something...

@readinglove I've always wanted to go to Switzerland, preferably in the winter for skiing! GL with your OB appointment. I hope you get a good plan in place.

  • Bookish - Thanks for taking things over.  You rock.  @pinkcamino - thanks for leading us the last few weeks.  you're a gem.

AFM - I have no idea when AF might come... My chart is so jacked up it's not funny.  I missed a few temps so I have no clue if I even O'd.  My boobs have been sore since about CD16 and I mean REALLY sore.... and that continues today.  I'm thinking AF could show up tomorrow or Wednesday which would be good... let's get this show on the road.  Though I'm slacking and haven't made my F/U appt with the RE yet.  I need to get on that.  Ok, that's enough random jibber jabber for the day... I'll check in later today with everyone - I'm catching up on email today and it's a lovely mess.  I missed you ladies last week - sorry I couldn't be more communicative.

@mrsg80inTN I give you kudos for even temping in the cycle after a loss. I can't do it because it makes me batty. And I totally understand dragging your feet on the RE appointment. I've definitely felt that way before. ((Hugs))

  • @bookishmomma - I just wanted to see if I would even O on my own without Clomid if that makes sense?  After 5 months of being on it I figured it would be interesting... but of course, missing CD20 temp made things wonky and now I don't actually know.  I didn't use OPKs or anything...

Hi ladies!  Not much to report for me.  I had a big temp drop today so af should be here today or tomorrow.  Femara cycle 2 was a bust.
Hi @mlal78! Somehow I missed you on my check-in list. Sorry about that. And sorry about the temp drop, too.

  • Thanks for the check-in Bookish!
Um, burning the bench is ok... We should probably actually have sex this week since I'll probably o somewhere around fri-sun.
Temping has been fine, it kind makes me feel like I'm "doing something" so I guess that's good.

QOTW: That's a tough one... It's a tie I think, between St Lucia and Australia.

  • Hi @Bookishmomma, I'd love to join in on this weekly checkin!

The history: DH is 29 and I am 28, have been trying for 1+ plus with two MCs in the last 10 months both resulting in D&Cs.

The current situation: Still bleeding post-D&C. Not fun, but no cramping, so I'll take it. My first RE appt is tomorrow and I'm seriously considering moving it out. I don't know if I'm emotionally ready for it. However, since I've had so much medical attention this benefit year, I'd like to get it in before our high deductible starts up again. I know AF isn't coming for a while, but I've been toying with...do I start temping again, or not. I'm not sure............

I'm learning that the emotions are much more of an unpredictable roller coaster the second time around. I feel like I need more alone time to process and understand how I want to move forward. Anyone else experience this?

    Love to you ladies.

@lycih I've been to Australia, but not St. Lucia... a Caribbean Island is sounding pretty good right about now.

@kreardon11 welcome to the check-in. I also found that my emotions were harder to deal with after subsequent losses. After one, you can sort of tell yourself that it's a fluke and be optimistic about your chances. For me, it was harder to keep thinking positively after more than one loss. But this is a great group for support, so I'm glad you've joined us.

  • Hey @bookishmomma!  Thanks for taking over the check-in!

AFM:  Thank God AF finally decided to show, I was really really anxious and stressing out about it!  My pre-op appt today went well and we are on for surgery on Friday.  The only scary thing was my doctor wrote "surrogacy" on the line for next steps if this doesn't work.  But we are all very hopeful that this is going to work.  The nurse doing my blood work was so sweet today, she said "don't have a negative thought in your head!  You have 7 babies just waiting for their home, now all you have to do is make it the safest place they can be".  I know that isn't necessarily right, but what good will being negative do me?  This has been such a long journey with so many changes in paths and road blocks.  I just have to hope this is the problem.  If all goes well we would hope for a February FET.

QOTW:  I absolutely love a small town in the south of France called Juan-Les-Pins, my "French family" (host family from college that I still keep in touch with) owns a home there and it's one of the most beautiful places I've ever been.

  • Thanks for the check in @bookishmomma and thanks @pinkcamino for doing the previous ones!

*hugs* to you all you ladies.

I have my RE appointment on the 17th. I thought it would never get here and now here it is, 9 days away. I am both excited and petrified. I really need to sit down and write some some questions or else I will be a hot mess while I am there and I won't remember one damn thing. I was thinking about recording my appointment because I know I am going to be so overwhelemed.

Question of the Week: Of all the places you've ever visited, which one was your favorite?
I would have to say Costa Rica, we went to the resort where one of the Bachelor seasons was taped and it was beautiful. I have to go back since I didn't get to do anything :( The first day, and our first excursion ended up with MH flipping over our ATV, me flying in the air which caused a separated shoulder and MH pulled his groin so bad he couldn't even walk. I didn't even get to go zip lining!
I am not sure how to say this without getting a "solicitation" warning so I guess I just say that I am not longer active on THIS site.

  • @nikolie93 holy shit, that is a bad start for a vacation! You definitely need to go back to Costa Rica and not injure yourselves this time.

@frenchteachermama I agree with the nurse. Don't even let yourself go down the road of "what ifs." I know it's hard not to, but you really are doing everything you can to give yourself the best chances. ((hugs))

  • Thanks for taking over @BookishMomma‌ , and to @PinkCamino‌ for the past couple of weeks. It's T-8 until surgery, and shit is getting real. I'm working like a crazy person until Thursday tying things up at work, then I'm off across the country for 3 nights for DH's Christmas party (he left today). We arrive home Monday, and surgery is Tuesday. I'm irrationally petrified that I may lose my fertility- which I know is crazy thoughts... But I know it's complicated, and I'm just scared.

  • Thanks for the check in Bookish!  So sweet of you to take over!  How are you doing?

"@dawnstar898 I see you're just at that crazy-making point of the TWW. Will you POAS or wait out AF?"
You know, I don't know.  I guess I'll just play it by ear.  Last month I was in Costa Rica, so I was very distracted, plus AF came a bit early on CD 11.  My LP is never the same length I swear.  I've really learned that anything can mean nothing if you know what I mean.  It's like you become a pro at "waiting it out"  Lol, I feel like I'm speaking in riddles.  I'll just go with the flow :)  I'm trying not to get too excited over the fact that I ovulated on CD 19 instead of 21-24, but am slightly hopeful at the same time.  Sorry drinking wine and babbling ;)  Drink till it's pink, right?

QOTW:  Costa RIca!  Right @Nikolie93?  I know at least one other bumpie that has gone there as well, though I can't remember who.  What resort did you stay at?  We stayed at Hotel Costa Verde and Los Lagos, both awesome!  Sorry you didn't get to do much :( I received minor injuries just about everyday from everything we did, it was definitely  the most adventurous I've ever been!
I guess I have to give and honorable mention to our honeymoon destinations of Greece and Venice, also amazing places.  Oh my, St. Johns is pretty awesome too, I can't decide!  Funny thing is, up until about 3 years ago, I had never really traveled anywhere worth mentioning!

  • @dawnstar898 we stayed at the Springs Resort and Spa at Arenal. The view from the room overlooked the volcano and it was so beautiful. I'm usually not one for resorts, I prefer to stay different places and explore.

So sad we had to stay in the room the whole time. Well, except for the trip to town when we had to go to the clinic lol

The Los Lagos Hotel was at the base of the Arenal Volcano as well, it was covered in clouds most of the time though!  We had a rental car so we were able to explore, you definitely need to go back, it has so much more to offer! • @BookishmommaThank you for taking over the check-in and thank you Pink for keeping it up the last few weeks!

This month is going very slow for me and I am going crazy just waiting. We got back our PGD and luckily and surprisingly we have 10 embryos frozen with normal results. But due to timing of the clinic FET won't be until end of Jan. It is so weird to not have any appointments, shots, tests anything this whole month but instead of being able to enjoy it I am just anxiously trying to will 2014 to end.

@Kreardon11 I felt the same after my 2nd loss. It hit much harder than the first one, the first time we felt like a lot of people have one miscarriage and go on to have babies with no problem -so after the 2nd loss we were devastated and shocked and just didn't know what to do or how this could be happening..

QOTW-we went to Venice and Santorini for our honeymoon and they are both so magical and beautiful in different ways!

I've been to Costa Rica, too. I went with one of my best girlfriends. We stayed in hostel type places and even a horse ranch for most of the trip, then splurged when we got to Arenal and stayed at the Tabacon resort, the one with the amazing hot springs.

  • Hey Bookish! Thanks for taking over the check-in! I'm so swamped at work that I know for sure my decision to relinquish this check-in was the right one. I worked 12 hours today and I am so far behind...ugh. ANYWAY. How are you darling?

AF has left the building. Yay for small victories! Last week was a disaster between being sick, AF, a lingering migraine, and putting myself on a detox. THANK GOD FOR COFFEE THIS WEEK. And sex. I haven't decided yet whether or not I'm going to temp this cycle. I kinda don't even want to mess with it because I will probably O while we're out of town at my ILs house. UGH. I'l be so glad when this holiday whirlwind madness is behind us. (Bah humbug, I know.)

QOTW: This is an almost impossible question for me. For those of you who don't know, I lived in Germany for many years and I was so fortunate to be able to do a TON of traveling. I am a lucky girl. I don't know even know where to start. I love so many places. I do have a very special place in my heart for Prague, Brugges (Belgium) and Dubrovnik (Croatia). <3
@HoldingOutHope Yay for coffee and sex, indeed! I'm impressed you did that detox even with all the other crap you were dealing with. It would have been easy to throw in the towel, and no one would have blamed you!

As for me, I'm doing OK. I went to the gym today for the first time in seriously a year. You know how the general advice is to "not start any new exercise routines" when you're KU? Well, with being either KU or recovering from procedures for most of 2014, I have seriously let exercise slide. And I need it for my mental health, so today I went to zumba. Or at least I thought it was Zumba. It ended up being this other sort of dance workout thing called "Werq."  More pop/hip-hop as opposed to Latin. Anyway, it as fun, but it kicked my butt. Also?  I need to do more kegels. After all that's happened "down there" of late, things are a little, er, weak in the pelvic floor department. I was seriously squirting out drips of pee every time I jumped (which was a lot).

The big news for me is that I have my MRI tomorrow to look into the septum issue. I'll be sure to update on the main board after that. I *think* I'm feeling OK about it, but I must have a lot of underlying worries because I've been having my recurring anxiety dream a lot, where I can't find my locker, can't remember my combination, have to go take an exam but I don't know where the classroom is because I haven't gone to the class all semester... you know. The classic anxiety dream. I've Googled it and apparently lots of people have variations of this same dream.

  • Sorry late to the check-in!  Thanks for taking over @BookishMomma and thanks for running it the past few weeks @PinkCamino.

AFM: Just waiting on my IVF consult next week.  I'm getting nervous and excited.  Working on our budget in the meantime since it's 100% OOP and since we have to do PGD as well it's even a little more expensive.  But I think we can make it work for sometime late winter/early spring! :)  We're TTA this cycle which is probably a good thing since my chart is all kinds of wonky.  So if you want to see a funky looking chart look at mine haha.

QOTW: Love reading about all these fun trips everyone has taken! I think I just added CR to my bucket list.  We stopped at St. John's on our honeymoon cruise and we both absolutely loved it.  I would go back in a heartbeat.  It was just gorgeous and so relaxing!

  • Thank you Bookship and Pink for the awesome job!

It sounds like everyone is ready for 2014 to be over! Holiday parties are always hard for me because everyone is either pregnant (we went to a party on Sat and 4 were pregnant!) or everyone is asking why we don't have kids yet (none of your darn business!)

@mrsg80inTN: You're amazing for plugging on! So brave.

As for me, we finished our 3rd clomid cycle in November which was a big fat negative. My doctor decided this month he wanted to do IUI+Clomid but my husband isn't comfortable yet with IUI so we decided to give this month a try without it. I had 2 large follicles at my mid-cycle. They gave me a trigger so we will see how this month plays out. Fingers crossed. It's been such a tough few years.

QOTD:  I think my favorite place I've ever been was our honeymoon location in zihuatanejo mexico. It's a tiny beach town on the western coast (about 4 hrs south of cabo.)

I hope everyone stays warm these next few weeks!

  • @ellebelle2384 TP to wonky charts! But if you have to TTA this cycle, I'm glad that at least you'll be getting some information soon from the RE.

@KateLM good luck with the upcoming medicated cycle.

@GeorgiaDottie I hear you on the holiday parties. It's a rough time of year.

  • GeorgiaDottie - Thanks, I appreciate that.  Sometimes I don't feel too amazing :-)  I'm sorry your first few clomid cycles didn't work.  My RE wants us to move to IUI as well but we haven't been all that comfortable with it.  We'll go there in January I think though.  I hope the trigger worked well for you!

  • Hi lovelies-  I hope everyone is having a good week.  Thanks to Bookish for taking over the check-in and thanks to Pink for handling over the past few weeks.

Unfortunately as much as I wanted this cycle to be it for us (lots of meaning- CD1 was my first loss anniversary, included my second loss EDD, etc)- our timing was pretty good but I'm now on CD13 which pretty much means I'm out and AF should be showing up on Thursday :(  I was really sick during my FW, so I'm guessing my body just was not a super hospitable environment during that time.

Just trying to stay positive about being able to drink and partake in whatever I want over the Christmas holiday- mimosas and sangria it is!  Plus that means my next FW should be right around Christmas which means nice, relaxing time at home with the family, sleeping in and a lot easier to HIO as much as we need to!

QOTW- Italy and Greece are my favorite.  I got engaged in the Cinque Terra in Italy and we know we want to go back but I've only been to Athens in Greece and really want to visit some of the Greek islands too!

To my angels- I held you every second of your lives and I'll love you every second of mine.

Hi ladies!  Not much to report for me.  I had a big temp drop today so af should be here today or tomorrow.  Femara cycle 2 was a bust.
@mlal78 - sorry about the temp drop :(

@Frenchteachermama -  nothing but positive vibes for you hon!!
