I have two. The reindeer doesn't have any special meaning or anything, I just really love it. He's one of my few classy ornaments on my Hallmark-laden tree.
This is Nutshell Jesus. I'm not even religious. This one I love more for the story. He's been on our family tree as long as I can remember. Every year my sister and I would fight over who got to put him on the tree, until eventually my mom had to institute an every-other-year rule, where we swapped off. Now that we're grown, my sister doesn't put up a tree, so my mom passed him on to me.
I have a lot of 'favorites'. Basically anything I have from when I was a kid. Most of those aren't on my tree, though. Here are some of my favorites: This one my little brother gave me (he made it) when he was probably about 6 or 7, so about 10 years ago.
This is the one we got (that I linked for @Avswolf yesterday) for our loss baby's first Christmas. The grandparents both have this same ornament. It is personalized on the back with name and date.
And this third one we actually got on our honeymoon in Gatlinburg, TN. It reminds me of it-we stayed in a cabin that was decorated in all bears.
It's so hard to pick! Almost every ornament on our tree has a story or I don't hang them
Here is DS's 1st ornament and the handprint ornament that him and I made when he was 2. We had a lot of fun making the dough together, doing the handprints and using cookie cutters on the leftover dough, then painting them all
I too have tons of sentimental ornaments but here are a few. My starbuck cups are some of my favorites. And I'm missing one I think it was broken last year without my knowledge.
Then there's C's first christmas Mickey that I love. I was so happy to find it
And then there's Minnie which belonged to my grandmother. grandpa gave it to me the first year we moved in here and that was a very uncharacteristic thing of him to do so I cherish it so much.
My favorite this year is this bear that I made for Nathaniel. I made ornaments in memory of him for all of our family members this Christmas. They are all different, but all made of paper from mail we got and flowers from the memorial service. I like the bears the best. (I made one for DD too.)
Here is Nathaniel bear with all the ornaments for our families.
I haven't bought it yet, but I saw that Hallmark sells them and I WANT it. I mean it's too perfect. It reminds me of our Blake drawing a rainbow for our rainbow baby (Jenna). I plan on buying it this weekend. I hope our local Hallmark store has it.
Our baby boy passed to SIDS on 12/6/12
