DH and I were just discussing photos of our first time meeting our Son and having my Mom snap pics right after he's delivered. Then I got to thinking.. Will I want to wear makeup during delivery? Of course I'll take photos either way, but.. What are you ladies thinking? Does the makeup come off before the pushing starts or do you get some waterproof mascara and push on?!

Making it a point to take makeup off before delivering
Prefer to have makeup on even if it smears a bit
Not going to worry about it
Re: Make-up during delivery
Edit: and I still think I looked pretty darn good after labor, though more tired and stringier hair.
This time around it will be hair and makeup and cute matching pjs all the way!
With DS, I took a shower that morning and went to my 40wk appt. We admitted to hospital around 5:30pm and he arrived around 11pm. So I was technically still wearing makeup from that morning, but didn't think to reapply lipstick while my uterus was violently contracting to push the baby down the birth canal.
I did re-apply chapstick often.

I have taken pains to make sure I like my hair style. But then having a shower or bath to ease labor pains kinda ruins that too. I've never looked back at pictures and wished I had looked better. I've never looked so good as having that newborn babe in arms.

Now my mom is a true southern diva. She was having contractions with me and got up and put hot rollers in her hair and did her make up before she would leave for the hospital. She looked amazing in her after delivery photos. But that is just my mom. She will get completely dressed with make up and hair done just for a quick trip to the grocery store. Me, not so much.
So... I will have my hair "done" and ideally soon before going into labor because 1.. I am not me with my hair naturally dried. And I really want to be me that day. 2...once done, it is the most low maintenance thing about me (often I don't even brush it in the morning) and 3...I can go days without so much as a thought about my appearance.
Make up: I'm a mascara and lipgloss/balm girl. I'm pretty good at applying full makeup but (don't shoot me) I have great, albiet freckly, skin and foundation is only used for events. I plan to bring my travel make up bag for after. If I have make up on before, I will likely keep it on. If I don't then I won't. But afterwards when I get to shower I'd like to put my mascara on and feel like me. Not photo-glam, just everyday me.

Being able to get out of bed on the first try
With DD I went to work that am, water broke, went to dinner with the family and than the hospital later that night. So still has some make up lingering.
Though I'm with who ever said I'm more concerned about having my legs shaved
