Comfortable/Uncomfortable ?

As I'm sitting here on the couch trying to find a comfortable position, I thought I would ask how everyone else is feeling in this department? Currently about to give up and go lay in bed.

I don't have swollen feet, hands, etc.... Just a general feeling of being EXTREMELY uncomfortable no matter what position I am in. No type of pain or anything of that nature. At almost 5 months, this makes me think about how I will be months 7-9! My stomach isn't that big... At least I think. But as soon as I popped, moving around AND laying still has become a slight challenge.. And I'm an active person! Maybe it just takes some getting used to the new body.

Eta: few extra thoughts!

Re: Comfortable/Uncomfortable ?

  • It's only just begun! :) Seriously though, I am very uncomfortable too. I would love to do nothing besides sit on the couch. I know the last bit will be hell so I am dreading it, especially with twins this time!

  • I work on my feet all day with not much opportunity to sit down. The pains that gives me in my hips is unreal. I get the worst. Most sharp pains in my hips that could make me cry from all thay standing

That is where I feel uncomfortable
  • @SassyPants150‌ first thing, I like reading your posts! Sitting on the couch is the last thing I want to do right now. Couldn't go full force in zumba today because I needed to conserve my body for walking through the mall. I couldn't imagine with twins! I'm hard on myself and a mover and shaker. Hard for me to take things more slowly. My career doesn't help that fact either.
  • @Kristaaa03‌ I have found doing frequent stretching is helping. Child's pose from yoga. Sitting Indian style and swirling around in a circle slowly... Stop where you feel tightness or discomfort. My physical therapist said to keep doing stretches regularly.

That actually sounds really helpful! I'm gonna try that. Because when my hip pain starts, I run outback to sit. And I could cry and cry. It's bad. Could bring me to my knees!
So thank you! Im gonna try that!

  • It's not just your growing body. It's actually something very similar to restless leg syndrome and is a common occurrence during pregnancy. Night time is usually the worst.
  • @DawnLilly‌ I had the similar to restless leg thing in first trimester as well.. Weird.
  • I am much more comfortable at this point than I was with DD. With her, starting at around 14 weeks I had terrible pains in my upper back and right shoulder, near an old injury. It only got worse as the pregnancy progressed, but I couldn't sit, stand, lay down, or get in any positions that brought me any comfort. Heat, ice, or stretching brought zero relief. So far, so good this time around. Although my energy is zero, so there's that.
  • I'm me uncomfortable in the past few days. I was just here in bed readjusting, trying to find a comfy position when I saw the post. On top of that, my left leg has been cramping up on me for about a week now.

  • I'm on my feet most of the day so I'm starting to feel some pains. My feet are throbbing by the end of the day and my lower back is bothering me. I popped rather large quickly so I've been feeling it for the last 2 weeks a lot.

  • @nurserachel22‌ I'm glad my Zumba peeps have been with me for 4 years...they get to "take the stage" a lot for me. I haven't been able to teach full out since about the time we found out it was twins. It's so hard to not go full speed when teaching but I will pay for it if I try to push it. I teach classes (wide variety) 6 days of the week so I really have to pace myself.

In fun news, I am doing the Aqua Zumba license next Saturday :) Our facility is opening a huge aquatics center in 2016 and I needed to get some more continuing credits for AFAA.

  • @SassyPants150‌ yay for getting your aqua license! My class is laid back and understanding. Three of my regular girls have now become my friends and help me teach. Such a blessing!
  • I'm not there yet but I'm only 15 weeks. I have been walking 2 miles every day, 1 in the morning and 1 in the evening to keep moving. I feel so much better since I started. I'm hoping to keep this up for the majority of the pregnancy. I was miserable with my second, I was inactive and I gained entirely to much weight. I already look like an old woman getting in and out of my bed, I was dreading what it's going to be like in a few months if I repeated my pregnancy again.
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • Ugh I can never get comfy. Ftm w twins so idk what to compare it to, but I do know its only the beginning. I told my dh ill need a scooter when we do our registry. I get uncomfy just standing sometimes. My stomach gets bloated, super hard and I get short of breath

  • The past few nights I've had a horrible time getting comfortable while sleeping. I'm waking up constantly and moving around. My husband doesn't appreciate it since I've been taking over the whole bed basically and pushing him to the edge. Oops.. I don't really have a bump yet so not sure exactly what's going on. When I do finally get comfortable and fall asleep, I end up waking up due to my hands or arm falling asleep. FTM- not sure what to expect the rest of the pregnancy.
  • I'm pretty comfortable through out the day but have a hard time getting comfortable in bed. I'm 18 weeks today and anytime I accidentally end up on my stomach the baby will make sure and let me know. It's like he or she takes his or her elbow or foot and runs it across my stomach as hard as possible. Be fire becoming pregnant I always slept on my stomach. I am doing my best to stay on my side but once I fall asleep my body changes positions.
