Yeah I am that mama who doesn't get the flu shot and I don't let my kids get it either. Well my son contracted the flu and started to show early symptoms yesterday and they prescribed him tamiflu, they also prescribed my daughter the same thing so she doesn't get it and they advised me to call my OB to ask them if I should be put on it. They called it in for me and I have to take one pill a day for 10 days for prevention. Today was my second dose. I just ran to the bathroom and hurled everywhere.

The only sides effects are nausea and vomiting. Have anyone else taken Tamiflu this season? I hope it's safe for me. The doctor said it was but the website says pregnant woman should not take it or consult a doctor.
Re: Has anyone else taken Tamiflu?
So your OB called it in? I'm sure it's one of those things where benefit outweighs the risk. I think it would be worse for you to get the flu than to take tamiflu. Since you already have 1 persons dx with it at your house your chances are much more likely to get it. I always got the flu when my kids got it regardless of how much I disinfected. The tamiflu doesn't prevent you from getting the flu I though, it just makes the symptoms not as severe and maybe a day or two shorter.
