Overnight diaper leaks

We never really had a problem with overnight diaper leaks until..... Target f---ing changed their diapers! I mean, yes, we've had occasional leaks in the past, but not with this frequency. Currently it's about once or twice a week.

This is definitely a preventable MOTN meltdown. DS has the most pathetic cry while I have to change him, wipe him down and change his crib sheet. Then it's about 20 min of sitting with him till he will go back to sleep. I've had enough of this!

I'm looking into overnight diapers. Suggestions please!

Re: Overnight diaper leaks

  • We just had to go up a size for overnight.

  • Thanks ladies! I will be making a store run today. I cannot go through another night like this without trying something different.
  • We use pampers swaddlers and then a pampers baby dry over that. Both size 5. We've only had 1 leak with both the diapers on. Grayson pees so much at night!

  • Huggies overnights are the only ones that work for us. I had to bump up to the 6s because she's even had a few leaks lately in the 5s. I've tried pretty much everything for overnight and everything else she's awake by about 2 or 3 just soaked.

  • Not to hijack your post PSU, but has anyone tried the new Huggies Snug & Dry Plus diapers? They are exclusive to Costco and when I got the email about them they claimed to be better and more absorbent and can last up to 12 hrs. I'm curious if they are actually that much better than the regular ones, like maybe close to the Overnights...? Buying a proper, big Costco pack would be soooo much cheaper than the boxes the overnights come in now, that never go on sale.

  • @daffy2k‌ I don't mind. If I had a Costco close to us I would be interested.

DS is spending his first night away from us tonight. We are going DH's Xmas party and my parents keeping him. With DS teething and going through WW 75, they will already have their hands full. I definitely don't want to worsen things with a leaky diaper.
  • We're pampers baby dry extra protection one size up. Even then he occasionally leaks. We try to limit liquids after dinner, but he is just a heavy wetter.

I found a big difference between Pampers Extra Protection and Huggies Overnights. We use cloth primarily, but I do prefer Pampers for daytime if we are using disposables. However the Huggies are definitely superior for overnight. At least for us they were.

  • I bought the Pampers Baby Dry Extra Protection in a size 5. 2 nights with no leaks. Time will tell if the switch really worked. Unfortunately he still isn't STTN because of teething. He had a great night for my parents on Saturday.
