Baby Names

Last minute help.

We are team green and had a girl name that can no longer be used.

We are 39 weeks and I'm so struggling here. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Guidelines:
Nordic/Germanic or Scandanavian origins.
Short (1 or 2 syllables)
Easy to pronounce in North America

Some we had considered are:
Tora (this was our choice SIL just named her baby Cora so we no longer want to use it)
Liv - like it but sounds like a NN in NA
Jördis - love but concerned about mispronounciation in NA and consequently people shortening it to 'Jordi'
Freya - maybe a possibility still. Just seems like a really 'big' name to me.

Any suggestions?

Re: Last minute help.

  • I have no idea if these are Scandinavian or not but I'll suggest some short names

    Thea
    Greta
    Hazel
    Lana/Lena
    Mona
  • One I love (that I heard on here :)) is Mieke. You'd have to tell people in the US the pronunciation for the most part but I think it's cute!

  • I like an above suggestion of Tova, and it's similar to Tora without the rhyming issue
