NCDR-milk question

I'm not working Monday or Tuesday next week. Would milk I pumped today be ok until then or should I freeze it?

Also somewhat related, M has started refusing bottles this week. Two on Tuesday, one yesterday and one today. Is that normal? He is almost 6 months old.

  • You mean would it be okay until Wednesday?

  • Kellymom says 3-8 days for fresh milk in the fridge, but 3 is "ideal".

I only work Tues & Thurs. He gets frozen on Tuesdays and fresh Thursdays. I freeze the milk I pump on Thursdays.

My son has started refusing bottles at daycare over the last couple of weeks, especially on Tuesday mornings. He will randomly take different brands than the ones he has be using for almost 6 months. But he does eventually eat. Could M be teething or something that is messing with him?

  • V started refusing bottles at 4 or 5 weeks. It makes me happy that G still takes them.
  • Yeah oops, Wednesday. Freeze it is. I knew about the 3-8 days, such a long window I start questioning myself.

I've wondered if he is teething but I swear his gums are flat as a board. Are there other ways to know?

@Brandiewine11‌ Have you. He led for lipase? Or do you think it's behavioral bc it's the first bottle after a long time of solely BFing?
@redrockmama‌ If he is 6m and doesn't have any teeth yet, he is probably teething. Gnawing on stuff, drooling, fussing, refusing to eat are some teething symptoms. Low grade fever, flushed cheeks, and actually seeing teeth are others.

  • Hmm he drools a lot and gnaws on his hands, and now that I think of it he did have rosy cheeks the other day. Oh great.

  • @TJ1979 - I think its behavioral. He has never been great at the bottle and usually is worst that first one on Tuesdays. He's mostly fine after that. He does it with freshly pumped milk too. Like 5 minutes old milk. We started experimenting with different bottles and he sometimes takes different brands better. Sometimes not.

I actually think he might have a lip tie and am going to have it evaluated at his 6 mo checkup.
