I teach junior high math, and my morning got off on the complete wrong foot. I had meetings at 6:30 and 7:30 this morning, and didn't feel prepared at all. So when my conference came before my classes started, I decided today would be the day. I found this cute activity on teacher pay teacher that lets the students find out I'm pregnant. It was very basic multiplication with a decoder to determine what letters represented each number.
Watching the kids solve the puzzle, and then seeing it click was hilarious. Their reactions were absolutely priceless.
I had meant to wait until after my next appointment, but I caved. Maybe my kids will act right before Christmas break. One can hope, right?
Any of you teachers tell or plan to tell your students in a fun way? The activity I used also had a copy with basic addition!
Re: Told my kiddos today...
A kinder baby, one of my kid's siblings, came up to me today and said "Are you really pregnant? Because you look so skinny!" So cute.
A baby.
