Britax Pioneer G1.1 Harness-2-Booster Car Seat

I have been out of the carseat loop. Our current seats will be expiring and we need to replace them. My dd1 is 6 and only weighs 38 pounds. Would this be a good choice for her next seat? Anyone know how this seat rates?

Re: Britax Pioneer G1.1 Harness-2-Booster Car Seat

  • There are no safety ratings, only ease of use ratings ;)

How tall is she? It is one of the longest lasting combination seats available. It gets lots of love on places like Car Sests for the Littles. It is a bigger seat though, so if you need to do 3 across, there are better options.

  • She is the 2nd smallest in her grade. She is a peanut.

  • No, we only have 2 children. We currently have the first years true fit convertible caeseats.

  • Than that seat would be fine! It'll last her a very long time if she is a peanut :)

  • OK.  First off, is your youngest FF or RF?

Secind, the Pioneer is a good option, but the Frontier is an even better option because it has  the click tight install.

  • My yoingest is FF. I'm not sure about it this seat for her though as she is only 30 pounds.

  • What is the click tight install? Also, do Britax seats have the latch system that cick in, not the tethers?

    girls photo zvczv.jpg

  • All US seats are required to have LATCH.  Britax Click Tight is a really easy way to install with the seat belt.  There are weight limits on LATCH so seat belt install would be required when your child hits the limit for your seat/vehicle.

Also, is your ticker correct?  If your youngest is only 1yr she should really be rearfacing.

No my youngest is 3. Oh, I prefer latch. Like I said, I have been out of the loop for 5 years
That was the last time we bought carseats. I haven't been on here in a few years.

  • Have you seen the click tight technology?  It is easier than LATCH!

  • You may prefer LATCH but soon your DD will exceed the weight limit and you will need to install with seat belt.

It depends on your vehicle and seat. Some have a combined child + seat limit of 65lb. Some have 40lb child limit.

Can suggest joining car seats for the Littles on Facebook? It's a wonderful resource, especially if its been a while since you've researched car seats. The page is moderated by Child Passsnger Safety Technicians and you can post pictures of your car seats to make sure they are installed correctly. There is a lot that goes into keeping kiddos safe in the car!
