training pants question

We currently use Best Bottom diapers and I love them. Dd is showing interest in potty training now and I'm trying to decide if I should purchase BB training pants or another brand, or is it cheapest to just buy disposable pull ups? This is my first time going through potty training so I don't know how quick the process takes. If it is just a couple weeks to a month, then wouldn't it be cheapest to buy disposable? Any suggestions would be great.

Pull ups are just another diaper, go right to underwear for potty training. That said, if you really want to do pull ups, cloth will pay for themselves rather quickly compared to disposables.

I have the Blueberry trainers.  They are nice to catch small accidents when we started out, but I wouldn't use them for overnight training to start with.

We use the trainers during the day as regular underwear.  

If you are day training, I'd try out regular underwear right away.  Then if you feel like trying the trainers go ahead.  I find that the trainers were more of a safety net for me.  If we were driving somewhere or in the store, I'd have a small safety net if she didn't tell me she had to go, or if we didn't get there fast enough.

I do use pull ups at night.  They don't absorb as much as regular diapers, but they are nice for the easy on and off to use the potty just before bedtime or right in the morning.  But they are expensive ($8 for 18).  I make sure to call them her night time diapers only.

I use the George brand training pants. Just thick underwear. They really don't cause a mess and the child feels when they are wet as they do absorb a little.

Another vote for straight to underwear. Dd is still nowhere near night trained. We still use diapers at night.
