How did you tell your spouse/SO?

It happened during the first month of "if it happens, it happens.. If not, oh well." I took the test because I was 2 days late.. Walked into the bedroom, asked and asked him if he wanted to throw up now or later, then broke down crying. He was just hugging me with the biggest smile on his face. Kind of funny when I think about it, but I was in complete shock it happened so fast!

My DH was away for a work trip when I found out. I charged up my camera and as soon as I walked in the door from work, I sneakily placed it on the dining room table and hit record. I told him I had a present for him and asked if he wanted it. I told him it was a plan for his next woodworking project (he loves to build things) and turned it around to reveal it was a crib plan. He stepped back wide eyed and said "ARE YOU PREGNANT?!" When I said yes, he jumped around like a kid in a candy shop. Having it on video is the best.

I just welled up reading this. The tiny little voice and the tears. It's so sweet.

My cycle went right back to normal after DS so when I was a few days late I took a test.  DH knew I was going to do it, he didn't know that it would be ridiculously early in the morning.  I came back to  bed and told him we'd have to shut off the electric blanket.  We didn't go back to sleep.  Just stayed awake in complete shock.  After a couple of days he wanted to shout it to the world.  This is our announcement that we'll put in Christmas cards just for immediate family and then we'll post it on Facebook after the first trimester.

I took him to the exact spot that he proposed to me, at a local State Park with a beautiful view. I put my positive pregnancy test in a Nordstrom jewelry box with a red ribbon and gave it to him. His eyes got wide and he had this tiny smile and he said, "is this really real?" And we got to share the moment together, alone, until it started pouring and we had to rush back to the car. It was perfect

I had bought a book called "so  you're going to be a dad" that he knew was my plan to announce to him. 

On the day I found out tho, that plan flew out the window. It was the day before I was supposed to get my period. I didn't think we had the greatest timing that month, but i just felt different, so I took a test and I was totally shocked to see a 2nd line. I called him in and told him to bring his glasses. he thought I was asking him to come kill a bug. LOL

he agreed it looked like a second line, I was still doubtful so on my lunch break i took a digital and texted him the pic of the YES+  we were both in shock but, super excited

My DH was working late the day I found out. So I drove to his work. I called and asked him to come to the parking lot. We sat in my car and I apologized for having a complete meltdown the night before. Before my DH could say anything I pulled out the digital test. He looked and it for a minute and asked if It was a sticker. Lol then he said are you serious? Then He hugged and kissed me. He then said your going to be my baby momma. Lol

Ours is a huge surprise as well. I took the test because I was just feeling blah. Read the digital 'pregnant' and got so excited I ran into the living room and tripped over the rug. Nailed my head on the hardwood floors pretty bad (you can laugh, I did) and he was so dumb founded he helped me up and said 'now this is why we don't run in the house. Sometimes I feel like we don't need kids cause your accident prone enough' hahaha then showed him the test and he said 'oh shit'. Haha

I ran downstairs with the two positive tests I took because I didn't believe the first one. We went to dinner that night and picked up a digital test and I confirmed in the morning.

H has the emotional depth of a teaspoon, so the response I got was his typical "alright..."

About a week later he was walking through the house, stopped dead in his tracks and said, "I'm happy you're pregnant. I realize I don't always have the responses you'd like in these situations, but I wanted to make sure you knew I was happy."
