YMCA/gym child care and holiday gift

If you take lo to gym child care, are you giving the employees a holiday gift/tip? I take lo to the Y 2-3 times a week. The care is free. I'd have to ask management if a gift is even allowed, but assuming it is, would you give one? If so, what or how much?

Re: YMCA/gym child care and holiday gift

  • I personally would not, but then again I guess I am a scrooge when it comes to gifts. I have enough people to buy for between friends and family. I don't see why a person doing their job needs more because it is Christmas.

  • They're actually older women. One is maybe late 40s and the other late 30s. But maybe food is still the way to go.

  • I actually work at a Y in the child watch area and I wouldn't think anyone would bring us gifts. If anything, it'd probably be cookies/snacks, which would be awesome, but definitely not necessary.

  • @dancer7889‌ thanks! It's nice to hear from someone who actually works that job. I think I'll give them cookies or something similar. It certainly can't hurt!

  • My kids go to a Y child watch all the time. They were going daily for a few months. They were actually the first people to watch Will after his surgery. I love them, but no presents. I have waaaaay too many people to buy presents for.
