NT scan results

I could not find any appropriate board for my question/statement. I just had my first trimester scan. I was measuring 13W6D (but I am really 13W1D) so measuring a little big. The heart rate was 150. The neck, however, measured 2.47 which she said was a little larger than normal. All of the research I have done says that at 13 weeks anything under 3 is normal. But they had me do the harmony test which I will not get the results back for 2 weeks. I just left thinking that something is wrong. Has anyone else measured around this? Thanks!

I haven't gone in for mine yet, but my thoughts are with you! It's hard being given numbers we don't really understand and playing the waiting game when we're not doctors and just want to know it's all ok! Fx you get swift and happy results.

I had my results today! I am suppose to be 12wks + 1, but technician told me that my measurements are 13 weeks!

My NT results were 1.6 mm, but I was told that it doesn't mean much until you get your blood work results.

I would not sweat it, OP. You are under 3 mm, and once you get the results, you will have a better idea.

Did your doctor talk to you after the scan about the measurement? My MW went over our results with us right then and there.

I don't have any insight, but just wanted to say T & P that you get positive results quickly. I know it's hard not to, but try not to worry before you need to.

momtobeobrien  Easier said than done, but I wouldn't be too worried over the numbers you got. If it helps to know what other people got, my LO measured 12w4 (slightly ahead) and 2.2 NT fold. I was told by radiologist that anything below 3 is deemed normal. And also, when you're measuring a little bigger, then that normal range can also increase slightly and you are well under 3. They should've offered you much more information and clarity. Sorry you are going through this.

She said that I wasn't high risk but my number was higher than a lot of others. And I have a 1st cousin with downs and a niece with turners. I think she just wanted to be sure. I know though, if I were at my doctors and not the hospital my doctor would have told me not to worry. Plus side I will get to find out the sex and she is submitting it to my insurance as high risk so they will pay for it.

Thanks everyone. I will post the results. I found a couple posts similar to mine on the 1st tri board but no one ever said how it turned out.

I was told that the us is 70% of the test. The blood draw accounts for another 20% and then the last draw is the last 10%. That Being said, I wasn't given any numbers for my scan at all, the tech just said the numbers looked good. Good luck, OP!

My daughters measurement was 2.75 and she is a perfectly healthy 2 year old. We were told they prefer it under 2.5, but anything under 3 is normal. It made me a bit nervous being in the high end of normal, but everything else looked great.

We've also had a bad nt scan and that measurement was 6.6 so there was a huge difference between our healthy child and that one (which we lost in 2nd tri.).

Your measurement is in the preferred range for my MFM so I feel like it is probably fine especially since you are measuring ahead. Good luck and hopefully you receive great results.

UPDATE! I just received a call from Maternal Fetal at the hospital where I did my NT scan and the Harmony test.  The baby is low risk Thanks everyone for your encourangment.

Did you have the Harmony test done on Dec 1st? or earlier?  I took the test last Wednesday (the 3rd), and I'm awaiting results. I'm trying to decide when I should call to see if they have them in.  

ETA: Congrats btw! Sorry I'm so wrapped up in my own limbo that I forgot to say that.

I just had my NT scan yesterday:

LMP clinical age: 12W1D

US age: 12W3D

HB: 169

NT: 1mm

Nasal Bone: Normal

The doctor said no red flags and come again for normal follow up in 3 weeks.

@Roo54‌ I had the harmony test done on the 1st. They SAID it would take two weeks to get the results. I was not expecting a phone call when I got one. Hopefully yours does not take the full two weeks

I still think the reason I measured around 2.75mm was because I measured at 13W6D. There were no other "markers" suggesting anything would be wrong. So my doctor knows the sex but I can't find out until January since my moms planning a big gender reveal party.......ugh! The suspense is killing me!
