An amnio isn't used to deal with what you have mentioned. I don't understand the connection.

Edit I had first trimester bleeding, a subchorionic hematoma. I was put on pelvic rest and monitored. I was told there wasn't much they could do other than wait.

An amnio is a diagnostic test. It is usually suggested after someone has screened positive for a chromosomal disorder. (screen positive means a higher chance) It can also used to determine things like how mature a baby's lungs are if that baby might have to be born early.

  • I am asking if a subchorionic hematoma increases the risk of an amnio.
  • Ok, I didn't understand your question. I actually had an amnio as well. I was not told my risk was increased at all due to the bleed.
  • Ok thank u. How big was your bleed and when did it resolve?
  • I don't recall the exact size. It was found really early and it was still there after 17 weeks. It did not cause any issues.
