This is a weekly thread for runners who were due June 2014, that is posted on Mondays . All who run--or who want to start running--are welcome, regardless of mileage, pace, ability, size, shape, or terrestrial status. We had this thread during pregnancy, now it's time to lose that baby weight.
Happy Monday ladies!
How were your runs and workouts this week?
What are your plans for health/fitness this week?
GTKY: Have you ever fallen prey to a fitness/diet fad? Which one? On the flipside, anyone try any fitness or nutrition routines that could be considered fads but actually worked for you?
Re: ***Born to Run JuneBugs 12/1***
I stopped running a few weeks ago, which is why I haven't been posting. I'm planning to start again in two weeks when we go to AZ since I will be there for most of the winter. I'm hoping to find a second-hand BOB while I'm out there.
What are your plans for health/fitness this week?
I'm trying to focus on my diet for the next two weeks, cutting back on sugar. Also, Pilates DVD since we won't get out for too many walks.

Before my wedding I tried giving up carbs. I ended up going through withdrawals. After feeling sick and dizzy at the movies, my friends had to rush me to the nearest Italian restaurant! I decided I didn't need to lose any weight after that
Plan: run at least 3 times and get some lifting in there. I want to bump up to 5 miles at once.
Fads: I used to do weight watchers, which isn't really a fad, but i still ate "lite" crap. Much happier trying to do mostly healthy and indulge once in awhile!
Still trying to find a groove with the new schedule but the last two days, I brought my sneakers to work and walked the airport on my lunch - took all the stairs, too!
Plans for this week - I want to get on the elliptical at least 2x and do two yoga sessions.
Fad diets? I did the ab diet for a while, years ago. It worked great, but was so hard!
Totally late this week as life has been getting in the way. Managed 4 insanity workouts and did strength training with a PT on Sunday.
Goals--
One more session of strength training session in place of insanity. We are heading to Florida to visit relatives last minute so that will throw things off this week for sure, but hopefully walk lots while there!
Fad diets--
I vaguely remember trying the 17 day diet with my friends once. From what I remember there were lots of rules and it really only temporarily sheds water weight. Now like others have said we try to stick to what is from the ground and ingredients we recognize and avoid processed. We generally allow ourselves a cheat meal on Sunday's and candy! Mmmm. Gives me something to look forward to to survive the week!
