Does anyone have the LT trampoline?

Or something comparable? I ordered one on Friday and was crazy excited about it because my kids are going to love it. Then a friend mentioned how she knew a kid who banged his mouth on the handlebar, and they're dangerous, blah blah. Thoughts? Am I an idiot? It would never occur to me to get a giant outdoor trampoline, but this looked tame and fun.

  • We have a trampoline with a bar and the kids love it. They play on it together all the time and have never gotten hurt. I have weights tied to the back so it doesn't tip.

  • My friend gifted me the Little Tikes one (she works for Little Tikes), but we haven't used it yet, because we're giving it to her for Christmas.  She uses one a daycare though and hasn't had a problem yet.

  • Thank you, ladies! I'm pretty safety-conscious, so it threw me that this could be a bad choice. @hmp1, they jump at the same time? I didn't think it looked big enough for that.

  • L is ridiculous on hers and she has not gotten hurt yet. The bar is good for a kid unsteady on their feet or can be ignored or removed for others.

The giant outdoor ones are great if you have room, but may affect your homeowners insurance rates, so look into that before you buy.

Yeah, I have no desire right now to buy a large one. I can just picture my two kids crashing into each other on it, and I don't want the liability for any visitors.

I don't have the LT one but ours isn't huge and they jump together all the time.

  • I wanted this for Luci, but DH was convinced that she would kill herself on it.  I told him I didn't think it would still be on the market if it was that dangerous....

Do you recall the brand of yours? I thought a trampoline purchase was off the table for us because there was no way I was buying two. If they could both jump together though, it might be doable.
This is the one we have. I bought it for James' second birthday and after much research went with this one because of the easy set up, no springs, and can hold my weight if I want to jump too. Having them use it at the same time is just bonus. They bump into each other but that just makes them laugh and laugh. It's 36" diameter so you should be good with any around that size.

  • We have it..relatively safe but of course if there is a way to hurt yourself, my kids will figure it out. DS likes to go up on the wrong side so he managed to topple it over on himself...but seriously, they'd find a way to hurt themselves in a padded room!

  • I remember considering this one too because I liked the bigger size, but the weight limit is only 80lb.

  • We went with one without a bar because that's what we use at gymnastics, I think my kid would hang on the bar and try to climb on it.

Just double checked, and the weight limit on LT is 55 lbs. They're going to need to take turns, and no bouncing for me, lol.

Now I need to decide, so what say you S12ers?

1 trampoline or 2 of the horse hopper things? If you happen to have both, what gets the most use? @hmp1, I believe you have both.
Hard to say. We keep them on different floors so they both get used a lot but never at the same time. The hoppers are down stairs and the trampoline is in the playroom upstairs. I guess the hopper gets used more because they sit on it like a chair, jump onto it from the coffee table (not advised, lol), and do laps around the downstairs on it.

  • Colby has been using keagans trampoline since he could pull to stand, so probably before age 1. He's never gotten hurt on it, neither has keagan. I do think I need to tie some weights to the back though, keagan is getting crazy!

  • I bought the LT one for Sage as her Santa gift. She is absolutely going to freak out when she sees it. I wish I had the energy to type out the long story associated with me already returning it because management at TRU are absolute pieces of crap. I plan on purchasing it from another retailer.

  • We got Nancy a trampoline around 6 months ago.

She's never banged her mouth or gotten hurt.

Even if she had, dude, they're toddlers.  They do all kinds of stupid shit & get hurt in all kinds of creative ways.  I wouldn't worry about it.

  • Apparently I'm in the same boat as you.  I didn't think of it as a dangerous toy.  Maybe that's because my kids jump off the couch today, so I thought a trampoline was a better outlet for that energy.

I bought the fit-fun or something from TRU on Black Friday.  The handlebar is padded and it was only $35.  I was pretty excited.
