I survived sisters shower.....barely.

I will post pics at the bottom of the cupcakes I spent 15 hours making yesterday.
It was strange going to a shower with the baby already being born. It was supposed to be a gender neutral theme so seeing pink was weird since she had a boy. But whatever, baby is doing awesome. Still in NICU but growing stronger everyday.
It was tough for me because there were 6 pregnant woman there and one if my brothers made a comment about me announcing that I'm pregnant also. My SIL saw the look of devastation on my face and immediately came to hug me and yell at her husband. I know he didn't mean to hurt me with the comment but of course I start tearing up. His wife must have let him have it on the drive hime because he sent an apology text after they left.
So I'm at a shower with a bunch if pregnant woman and reminded by my brother that I'm not pregnant. Thanks.
Glad it's over and I'm going to relax and think positive that I will be pregnant again soon. I can hope right?

Glad SIL set him straight and I hope some people overheard her. People just don't think. I had some people making comments at thanksgiving... well meaning, but they have no idea how much it stings.

@shadiddynyc the maitre'd asked if I make cupcake favors for a living. When I to him it's more if just a hobby he looked at me like I was crazy. I gave him one to take home because he liked them so much.
I wish I could sell them but it's hard to find customers who will pay for them. So I basically just make them for friends and family but once in a while it get a paying customer.

boo on your brother for insensitive comments, but yay on your SIL for sticking up for you! I can only imagine how strange it must be to be in an environment when you're surrounded by friends and family who are pregnant when you so desperately want to be. Congrats on making it through it, and like everyone else said, your cupcakes are amazing!

@shadiddynyc I would have to charge $4.00 each for the boxed favors.  With more than half of that going into the box and baking ingredients.   I make everything form scratch and we all know that butter, milk and eggs cost a bloody fortune now.  They take so long to make that it really is not profitable for me so thats why I stick to making them for friends and family.  A paid job now and then is nice but that is few and far between.  

Its the only art I get to do now so even when I make $3 and hour im ok with that.

The cupcakes came out great. Aww sry your bro in his head thought he was being cute & funny, but in reality came off looking pathetic ((((hugs)))). I wish people would think before blurting what's on their mind before they talk. That goes for everything not just the inability to become prego
