Hi all- I'm 35. Didn't have the advanced screening with last pregnancy, but this time around was planning on the harmony test. My mw said that we don't need a nuchal scan, since the blood test is more accurate. Did any of you skip the nuchal? I don't know anyone who's for this! Thanks!
Hi @MsOCT. I did an NIPT. I was not offered NT scan at all. My doctor did order a quad screen primarily for the Spina Bifida part that the NIPT and NT scan don't look for. The quad screen also screens for some of the defects covered by the NIPT/NT scan. There are blood tests that only cover Spina Bifida that I wasn't offered. Hope this helps.
My dr did harmony and the nt scan. Most likely with the dna test you can skip it, but it was routine with the rest of u/s so tech went ahead and measured.

Same- bc I'll be over 35 when I deliver they were doing a 12/13 week ultrasound anyhow. If it's offered I say why not take the opportunity to see baby.
Bostonchelle - if the NT is offered, and they're doing an ultrasound around 12 weeks anyway, it only takes a second to take the measurement, so why not? In my opinion, it's one more piece of information about the health of the baby. Best wishes, whatever you decide!
This is interesting as my Dr suggested I don't use the NIPT test but I'll have a blood test and 13wk scan to check for abnormalities. I've already had a VCGS genetic carrier screen which was low risk. I am in Australia so maybe they're a bit behind the times. The harmony test sounds great!
I was going to skip the NT but they did the blood draw and the NT scan at the same appointment for me. The NT results came in faster, but the Harmony (NIPT) test is more accurate.
