The title says it all... As a new mom I feel a little clueless as far as developmental milestones go as well as parenting styles in the future. What books have you ladies found helpful or heard good things about? TIA!

I like the Happiest Baby on the Block, and the follow up book Happiest Toddler on the Block.
For milestones, I just look at the lists online. And my pediatrician always gives a sheet about what to expect at certain ages and what they should be doing by the next visit.
Wonder Weeks was really helpful explaining the milestones. It gives nice descriptions of what's happening developmentally (and why baby is so cranky sometimes).
We have what to expect in the first year and it's been hugely helpful. For parenting I just look at blogs and stuff I find through pinterest.
October board has a "Tips" thread where everyone shares their parenting/baby care tips and i think we should start one. I like looking at theirs though because their babies are a few weeks older and it gives me insight into what's to come.
For example, the best tip I read from there so far was for burping--hold the baby over your shoulder and grab with your thumb and forefinger between her ribs and hips and give her a brief little wiggle. Then burp. Gets all the burps right out. Amazing tip.
