Socks??

Is anyone else having a hard time wearing socks? They are all too tight and cutting off my circulation. Any suggestions, besides not wearing any?

  • are you having trouble with your socks because of foot-swelling?  you're not being terribly clear here.

  • Yes due to swelling. Even bigger socks are too tight., just wasn't sure if anyone else had a similar problem and had any solutions to whAt worked for them
  • IM wearing DH's super low cut socks.  His feet are about twice as big as mine, so its working for now.

  • You could cut the sides of the socks? I'm not really sure, if a bigger pair isn't helping

  • I have a similar problem. I have bigger feet to begin with. Now they're long and fat. I don't wear socks anymore than I have to. I am loving my slippers.

  • Big fuzzy socks, they're the best!

  • I have been just fine wearing my super low cut socks...not tight at all (but maybe my feet aren't swollen yet?? It's hard to tell)
  • I wear the ones that come up to my knees. But I'm kind of nerdy in that my socks always match the season or holiday ;)
  • Have you tried diabetic socks?

  • Thanks everyone for your responses. Will look into diabetic socks. Need something that will fit in my shoes along with my swollen feet! And slippers or the fuzzy ones for sure when im home!
  • You may want to look at compression socks to help with the swelling. Then other socks will likely fit on top.

    Jan 15  NOV siggy challenge:

  • I have to wear compression stalkings everyday that go all the way up my legs(I finally have vein surgery after she's born.) Just make sure that you get the right amount of compression and that you raise your legs for a bit after taking them off or it could just make your legs hurt even worse.
  • Another recommendation for compression socks - I have some that are knee highs and they are so great, my feet are much more comfortable at the end of the day.
    DD#1 (6), DD#2 (4), DD#3 (0)
  • i was going to suggest compression socks as well.  i only have a cheap pair of knee-highs and i've found that they help immensely (except for a small area on the top of my foot, right behind my toes, lol).  then when you can get off your feet, take them off and put your feet up.  drink lots of water and watch your salt intake too, that can help with the swelling directly.  also, make sure you have enough potassium in your diet.

  • If this swelling is new or sudden or severe, make sure your doctor is aware. It's sometimes a sign of pre-e.
