We have mama and dada as well as daaa for dog, sss for cheese, ki for kitty.
B signs too...dog, bird, more, all done, light, milk, eat, cheese, baby, ball, shoes.
Can't figure out the signature thing, so here's the short, short version.....first daughter born on November 10, 2013. She was conceived through the magic of IVF after 2+ years of TTC.
G has lots of sounds that he tries to use to say things, but nothing understandable except: mama, dada, pooh (pooh bear), baba (bottle), and up. I feel like when I talk to him he will sometimes understand the tone of what I'm saying, and maybe some key words like yes, no, on, off.
He will sign for eat and milk! That makes me very happy because I feel like we really communicate when he uses those signs. Those are really the only two things I know for sure what he wants and I can respond to him.
He also growls at my brother's new puppy. The puppy doesn't even bark, so this is hilarious to witness.
Mama and daddy are the big ones. Plus cat, dog, duck, truck, done, milk and more- every food is always MORE!!.
If you ask him "what does the dog say?" he answers in a whisper with "wuff wuff fuff". He just started that last night and it's so cute. My kid's a genius, clearly. :P
Six years of infertility and loss, four IUIs, one IVF and one very awesome little boy born via med-free birth 10.24.13.
Most popular are 'bye daddy' and 'yum' If anyone is eating anything she will reach out or walk over and say 'yum' which also means give me some! My girl loves food!
I am on team mostly babbles and screeches. He says sock and horse, mama and dada (not directed at anything) and that's about it. He makes noise and understands more, like when I tell him to go get a book and I will read to him he goes into his room, grabs a book off the shelf and brings it to me. He signs milk, all done and shakes his head no at everything.
@EmmyFitzy no talk here either. I thought I had the only N13 baby who didn't talk yet! I'm not worried about her developmentally, when we went to the pedi two weeks ago, he wasn't concerned. All babies accomplish milestones at different times.
Gah. I need to learn some signs. How do you teach them? Just repeat a lot as you're doing something? Like when you offer milk so you sign and say milk a lot?
OMG @Sing2phins, You are the Baby Whisperer!! A does that sign with the index finger to his palm and I have been telling Pete I have no idea what he means, and kept trying to remember to ask his DC teachers, but I forget every time. I'm so glad you decoded this for me.
The only other sign he has done is milk, and it's been quite some time since we've seen that from him, especially now that we are only offering his bedtime bottle.

Daycare taught G to sign. I noticed him doing the sign for eat one day at home, and had to Google it because I had no clue. We started using it after I noticed him doing it. Every time we say "eat" we do the sign.
Re: Talking babies
Bew- Bear
Bawh- Ball
Bwah- Bottle
Buh- Bye
Dah- Dog
Dad
Hi
He also waves at everyone and blows kisses goodbye.
He's working on our dogs' names too, but I've only heard him say each one once.
Then lots of babbling, which I love.
Dada
Hi
Up
Open
Bye
Yeah
Uh-oh
Mang (one of Sinny's nicknames)
Things he has mimicked but I'm certain doesn't know the meaning: Thank you, teeth, popcorn
Bye bye (without the -Ye so it's more Buh-sounding)
Mi-mi for mommy but he only says it to my senior picture on the wall
Uh oh when he knocks something over and wants it to be picked up
Tha-tha for grandpa
Mum-mum for milk... But I can't seem to get a "mommy"
Thank you when he's repeating after you
Jo-Jo-Jo and do-do-do all day every day
