What are some ways, that have worked, you've naturally induced labor? I've been doing a lot of walking and squats and it's slightly helped me dilate more and all, but I'm really just wanting him to come soon. I'm not sure what else to try really. I'm also single so sex is not an option, lol and I'd have to be dying to get a massage from someone in my house.
Well maybe you should have just searched before starting another thread about the same thing that has been talked to death on here? It obviously want that hard to find!
No, I figured we're all adults here and could simply answer a question. I was scrolling through the things under my calendar tab and it had things listed I could try. If there is another thread I'll look for it.
I'm due in a week. So, I just want to start doing whatever I can to get it going. My boss won't let me work with being so close to my due date and I've become really inactive, but I started doing more after my last appointment. I also said I fixed that problem
Oh, no castor oil! I read that can cause problems with the baby. I've cleaned everything, lol and all his stuff is set up. I get really restless because I'll sleep from 9:30/10-12/1 at night and them I'm up until about 9 or 10 in the morning. I tend to wander around my basement at that time so I'm less likely to wake anyone up
@babymama1417 a lot of us are home, waiting for our babies to come. Some people have been on bedrest for months. Others, like me, just had their final days of work this past week. We're all anxious; that's part of being 8-9 months pregnant.
The point of being home is not to induce labor before it's time. The goal is to have a healthy delivery. I suggest setting up a daily routine: breakfast, go for a walk, catching up on daytime programing, lunch, read part of a good book at your local Barnes and Nobles or library, etc. You get the point. Just keep yourself mentally occupied and your baby will be here before you know it.
I just want to say that with my due date being two days away I am starting to get a little anxious and googled how to induce labor. It probably doesn't actually make sense but my doctor will only let me go one week late and I really want this to all happen on my own.
The only two ways to naturally induce labor that I would be willing to try is walking and relaxing. The problem with both of those option is that it is freezing here so the only place to walk is the crowed mall and I am not good at relaxing. We have family in town and their dogs staying us and I keep think about all the work stuff let to do!
Maybe I will schedule a massage for next Saturday.
With DD I was running and walking up until the very end, which was 41w2d when I was induced due to low fluid. I walked 6 miles the day before she was born, and she still didnt come on her own. In some cases they won't come out early or "on time" no matter what you try.
With DS I walked multiple miles a day up until I delivered, too. Now, I'm 11 years older and my body is throwing the biggest protest ever thrown by a body. It's not pretty! And, those first ten steps are awful! I'm not sure how I haven't fallen over yet. Or given up and used a wheelchair

Yall are some mean b****** on this thread. She was just asking a question. Geesh. Just keep walking and walking. Unfortunately, the baby will come when it's ready. Get your ob to strip your membranes. That got me going for my first one.

Ok here's the thing. When you were first told about pregnancy I am sure someone mentioned at some point that human gestation is around 38 weeks but since we count from your LMP you would be pregnant for 40 weeks. That's what you signed on for. This whole time we have all been counting down to 40 weeks from our LMP.....
SO WHY THE FUCK IS IT NOW 39weeks/38weeks/I'm bored of being pregnant/I want a living doll to play with. FFS stop trying to induce unless your doctor has told you to get her moving. And if you doctor has suggested this, perhaps ask your doctor what method they recommend.
That's been building up for a while, glad I got it out.

It's not that anyone is being mean, the baby will come when he/she is ready. Though it must get old seeing the same posts over and over again on how to get the baby out sooner- especially for moms who have watched their baby live in a NICU for coming too soon & would love for them to come out at 40-42 weeks. Just my opinion

Walking doesn't induce labor.
Waaaaahhhh? But in the books I didn't read and the Google I didn't google it says it does! Oh wait it also says baby comes when baby wants. So glad I did absolutely no research up until now.

Give it two weeks after the baby is born, when you're sleep deprived and in "zombie mode"...you'll be wishing you had an extra week just to sleep! Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy and relax. Get some cleaning done, go buy another onesie, and sleep-in while you still can.

@misskilljoy, @JunkieBrewster, @Slaps, @CandEChicago, and quite a few others....
But when you guys comment on something and the OP gets snarky with you, I don't blame you for stepping up and defending yourself , who wouldn't?
What the ops don't understand is that arrogance and ignorance isn't something that can be tolerated when it comes to the life of our children.
So, seriously ladies, thank you for being informative and sources that we can go to!
