Eating question

So I haven't been really hungry at all. When I eat, it's very little bc I get stuffed really easily. It was disappointing at thanksgiving bc I was excited to stuff my face, but I could barely eat what was on my plate. When i got pregnant, I expected to want to eat everything in sight. Not being hungry is kind of throwing me for a loop. Is anyone else experiencing something similar? I'm 17 weeks and 4 days, maybe it's just the time?

  • I was hungry all the time at first but now my appetite has dwindled and last weekend in couldn't even make it through a roast dinner :(( but I try to eat little and often rather than big meals as I get full up very quickly.

  • Yes! I was the same way my whole last pregnancy(twins) and a good portion of this pregnancy. Thankfully it subsided around 16 weeks for me. I was getting so disappointed that I couldn't eat as much as I wanted lol. Last pregnancy I had to deal with eating small snacks/meals every two hours. I'm not sure what changed around 16 weeks but I no longer get that stuffed feeling after just a tiny portion.

  • Just this past week I've had the same issue. I'll get hungry and be super stuffed after just a few bites. I think I'm just gonna have to do mini meals every couple hours for a while. I didn't have this with DD until much later when she was much bigger.

  • Yup. I hate it. There are have been a couple days I just forgot to eat until it was 8pm and I felt like shit and could barely stand.

    It's getting slightly better, some food actually doesn't sound horrible at the thought. But thanks to my weeks of hardly eating, I get so full after just a few bites.

    My thanksgiving plate was pretty pitiful as well.

  • I still have food adversions to almost all proteins like CHICKEN, I really don't think I eat enough of it each day. I started drinking almond milk and eat Greek yogurt to try to get some protein in each day. It's so crazy because I eat everything and was not a picky eater at all before I got pregnant. I used to enjoy eating deep fried food and now I can't stand it either, I really hope one day soon I will enjoy food again. However I do craves hummus, gyro, and Pakistan food which is so spicy. I heard it's not good for my baby, but I can't help it because spicy food is what i like to eat now. Does anybody craves salty and spicy food too? How could a pregnant lady don't enjoy food?
  • I've been the exact same way. I get full very easily, and get uncomfortable if I over eat. Now I just have frequent small meals, which is typically okay, except for Thanksgiving when I wanted to try everything- I was disappointed! Lol
  • I feel hungry during the day, although options of what actually sounds good are limited... But when I go to eat I feel so stuffed after like five bites! It's such a weird feeling I'm struggling to get used to. It seems like 6pm hits and I have zero appetite! I can barely force myself to eat any dinner.

  • I can relate. Try to eat smaller, more frequent meals throughout the day if you can handle that. That's what I've been doing, and it feels like I'm constantly eating, but it's always something small and healthy.
  • I've been the same way. Thanksgiving was a let down. Do you think it's because the growing uterus is pushing on the stomach, making it harder to expand?
  • I am having the same issue- gettin full so much faster. I've started to eat mini meals/snacks throughout the day. I suspect it's from your stomach being pushed up so your growing uterus has room and moves up. Maybe it's putting some restriction on our stomachs? I have no idea but that's my educated guess
