We're starting to look at car seats and strollers...So, I'm curious about your thoughts. What brand do you have/are you planning to get and would you recommend? Also, Any feelings on stroller travel systems with a car seat that just clicks in both the car and stroller? Anything you can share is greatly appreciated!!

Re: Car seat & stroller

  • We loved the Chicco 30 car seats for our twins. We didn't do a travel system since it got a little complicated with two infants, but for this baby we plan to go with a Chicco travel system (seems easiest to get it all together).

  • I am also planning on the Chicco Keyfit 30 car seat. However I am not doing the travel system and will be buying a Mamas and Papas Armadillo Flip stroller.

  • We did Chicco Key Fit for my son who's 5 now. And we plan on getting another one for this little one.
  • We plan on the chicco keyfit 30 (consumer reports likes it too), and the city select stroller. After multiple visits to BBB to test them out, they are our favorites.
  • We are doing the Chicco Key Fit 30 and the Revolution SE Bob stroller. We live near the beach and are active outside so this stroller is great for us

  • @jbj 7497‌ did you do the city mini or city mini gt? I'm looking at that stroller and am torn which one to get.
  • We did the UPPA Cruz stroller and Mesa car seat...really car installation and the stroller was easy to use as well.
  • We have a Peg Perego infant car seat and BOB Revolution stroller with the car seat attachment. I'm a runner and the BOB is amazing, even just on walks when LO was itty bitty. It practically pushes itself and is such a smooth ride for baby. Our back up car seat that we use when traveling is the Graco Snugride, it's much lighter. When we travel we baby wear, and now that DD is older we have a $20 umbrella stroller from BRU.

  • We are doing the evenflo DLX (symphony I think?) no stroller. DF and I are baby wearers so I'm picking up a new camo mei tai for him. This is #4 and dd and DS#2 still use the double stroller (They have Charcot Marie tooth)

  • We got a Graco travel system for my first and I regret it. The stroller was so
bulky that I never wanted to use it after we stopped snapping the car seat in. We ended up buying a better more compact stroller later. So if I had to do it all over again, I would get the infant seat, a stroller frame that it snaps into, then when the baby is ready for the regular stroller I would buy a lightweight one.

  • Doing a chicco fit with an uppa baby vista and a BOB!
  • @jbj 7497‌ did you do the city mini or city mini gt? I'm looking at that stroller and am torn which one to get.

I know you didn't ask me but just chiming in.... Our close friends have the regular city mini and we have the GT. The GT is great! Well worth it. The tires in it are all terrain. We've walked on the beach, on gravel, in grass and the stroller has been super easy to push. We loved it!

We also had the Chicco Keyfit 30 and used the seat adapter.
  • We are getting a chicco keyfit and the keyfit cady. The chicco light way plus though looks amazing but we have a regular lightway (too bad the seat won't sit in there).

Good to know this works well! It's our plan for this baby too.

  • I had a Chicco keyfit for ds and I've purchased a chicco nextfit for this baby. I got a great deal on it and we may need 2 car seats anyways.

  • We used a Graco Snugride for our first three. It expired so we will have to get a new one this time around. Not sure if we will get another Graco or a Britax. All of our convertible carseats are Britax so I will probably stick with one of those two brands.

For a stroller, we have had a Bumbleride Flyer (liked it, but sold it) and also have a Maclaren Triumph and a Maclaren snap and go. I am considering buying a bigger stroller like the Britax B-Agile but we will see. Not sure I will really need it but with older girls I may be using the stroller more.

    So excited for Baby #4!
  • Some of our friends surprised us with a baby trend travel system, it seems nice enough but I feel like when the car seat snaps on to the stroller it sits in a kind of awkward upright position. But it was free so I can't complain.

Sorry for the late response, we did the regular city mini, but I also have a jogging stroller. My friend had the gt and I like it better mainly BC of the wheels.

  • What is the travel system
  • We went with the britax marathon and the BOB revolution SE. I'm not sure if I will regret not getting an infant carrier.
  • Chicco keyfit with the stroller frame it can snap into. We have a city mini and BOB stroller.
  • We are debating about either the bugaboo chameleon or uppababy vista!

I tried the uppababy vista today and I freaking love it. They only had the 2014 edition and she said to wait for the 2015 edition bc the collapsing mechanism is a whole lot easier on the stroller.

  • So I have a question. I'm torn between the britix b safe and b agile or the chicco key fit.

Now my thing is with the chicco it looks like the caddy is a good choice for the beginning then maybe get a different stroller later. From the reviews I've read the chicco strollers aren't that great so travel systems are a waste with the chicco.

I tested out the b-agile at BRU and I really like the light weight stroller and the 3 wheels. I know consumer reports recommends the chicco key fit but what stroller? The caddy then a different stroller or something else. If I got something else how does the car seat fit on the stroller if it's a different brand?
    Fucking bump!!!!

  • We ordered the Chicco Keyfit 30! It's a little heavy though, so we got a Maclaren umbrella stroller to switch to just as soon as she gets old enough! Other than the weight (which actually makes me feel a little bit better), everything is extremely easy to use and we are super happy with the purchase. Hope it stays that way once we have a baby to put in there ;)
