Intro - Hello Everyone!

Hello - I'm a transfer from the 2IF board - so I'm excited to join my other 2IF grads here!  ( @Steph1673 - it's almost surreal that I get to be part of the check in now)

I'll admit that despite my solid Betas, I am still nervous because it's been a long road to get here and it's a long road yet ahead.  Happy, but cautious.  I'm sure many of you understand, and I look forward to getting to know some new friends on this journey.

My siggy has all the timeline details, but I went through a fresh IVF cycle this time.  Had a lot of pain after the retrieval, and apparently some internal bleeding because I ended up with a severely 'bruised' belly button afterward.  A few days after my transfer, I started to swell up.  And when I say swell - I mean I could already join HDBD right now.  I gained 8 pounds in one week, all in my abdomen, and I look like I'm 4 months pregnant.  Ultrasound showed fluid in my abdomen - so yes, ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS).

So it's a rough start to this pregnancy.  I've been sleeping in a recliner because I can't sleep laying flat in bed.  I have to eat small meals since there is not a lot of room right now.  None of my clothes fit - I actually have to go get my maternity clothes out of storage.  People at work are looking at me sideways - hard to hide being pregnant when you look like I do which is not ideal because I'm no where near the end of the first trimester where I would feel more comfortable telling people. 

Anyone else out there with OHSS?  Misery loves company - ha ha.

Congrats and I hope you feel better. I have OHSS and found out on wednesday, when I couldn't even get up and walk few steps. I have fluid in the abdominal, and my right ovary is  really enlarged and hurts to touch. I stayed overnight at the hospital for monitoring, but they send me home after being on IV fluids. They ran the beta and it was 78 at 6dp5dt. So happy about that, but it is still uncomfortable to sleep or walk.

fjamil1 - ugh - I describe it as walking around with a couple of bricks in my abdomen.  DH is irritated with me because I am miserable already and he is predicting a rough pregnancy because we transferred two embryos and he is already convinced it's twins.  (I promise I resisted the urge to shake him - but it's eternally frustrating that all he had to do in this process is make a drop off in a cup - you know?) 

I hope you start feeling better soon too.

@hoppin747, Thank you. OHSS just plain out sucks. My abdomen isn't that hard but it has gotten bigger. I gained 3 lds since transfer. we also transferred two, and we are also predicting two, but won't know until ultrasound.  I know what you mean with DH complaining

Congrats & welcome. I've no experience with OHSS, but I am having twins after transferring two. Sure, we're a little scared, but we'd probably be scared either way - so we're looking two babies as an amazingly wonderful gift.

@AMShark - we too would be thrilled with one or two, boy or girl.  Please don't misunderstand :-)  DH is really just grumbling because he is concerned about me - I work a demanding job as an attorney and he thinks if it's twins I could end up on bed rest ultimately and this pregnancy could be tough.

Welcome and congratulations! I don't think they ever called is OHSS for me, but it sure felt like it. I was "showing" at 7 weeks with twins since both embryos stuck, which is just crazy! Now, at 12 weeks I'm looking very pregnant and I'm pretty sure it's bc of all the eggs and hormones they pumped me full of. I hope you feel better soon.

Congratulations! I hope you are feeling better soon! I had OHSS before ER my first IVF and was cancelled because of it..... It's not fun take good care of yourself!
