Who's walking?

Hope you've all recovered from your turkey comas!

Just wanted to know where you all were with your LOs and walking. DD is 14 months and isn't walking yet. She took 13 steps on her own about 10 days ago and hasn't done a step since. She walks when holding my hand but she looks like she's been hitting the bottle pretty hard. Stagger stagger, trip and stumble.

DD has been walking since a few days after her first birthday, however I wouldn't call her a confident walker.  She still stumbles.  DS didn't walk until he was almost 16 months which I think was better because I don't remember him stumbling as much.  It was like one day he decided to walk and he walked.

15 months and started walking 1-2 wks ago. The couple weeks before that, she'd take 1 or 2 steps for us on occasion, but mostly refused.

I second @sugarkissed DS has also decided climbing is the best way to give me a heart attack these days.

She tries. She takes a few steps here and there on her own. She doesn't do it if we encourage her. She stands on her own all the time and tries to climb everything! Also she just turned 14 months

DD is 14 months and started really walking last week. She took a few good steps 2 days in a row then didn't walk at all, wouldn't even try, for about 10 days. Now she's getting more confident every day. I still have to set her up and tell her to walk for the most part but she's beginning to walk short distances on her own.

14.5 months here and she started walking a little over 3 weeks ago. It happened really fast too.. She just went for it one day. Now she's fast and tries to run.

I'm in the same boat as @sugarkissed‌ and @munchkinsmama‌, DD just turned 14 months and is running everywhere. She always wants to be walking/running and if we are somewhere that isnt confined with baby gates etc. I find myself constantly chasing her around (that is her favorite game). She does everything possible to squirm out of your arms so it's nearly impossible to hold her these days.

ETA: Once DD got the confidence and ability to stand up from a sitting position without holding onto anything around 11 months, she was unstoppable with walking. I did also notice along with a lot of you ladies that when I encouraged her a lot at first she would fall or crawl instead. I began to act like it was no big deal that she was starting to take steps and her walking seemed to progress pretty quickly after that, coincidence I'll never know.

Dd has been walking since about 11.5 months, she runs pretty fast now too! She bails a lot though and bumps into things lol. Clumsy like her momma ;)

Mine took her first couple steps right before her first birthday (9/11), crawled for the first time the day after her first birthday, and then really began walking about a week later. It all happened at once, and now she's a crazed running maniac.

14.5 months and can walk wobbly about 5-8 steps when she wants to but still prefers to scoot or crawl. DD1 didn't walk independently until 16.5 mo. My girls are late walkers!

DS turned 15 months on Wednesday. He just started walking holding onto one hand this week. He cannot stand or take steps without holding onto something

No walking here at almost 15 months. She will cruise, climb, stand, sways, dances, squat to stand all unassisted but has only taken 3 steps consecutively twice over the last 2 weeks.

And idk why everyone says "oh watch out when they walk!" I prefer him walking instead of crawling because I can let him walk in public. I didn't want him crawling on the ground in Target and then putting those hands in his mouth.
When I let my LO walk in public, he walks in the opposite direction of where I need to be. Keeping him contained in the cart is harder too, because he just wants to walk. But it is nice to be able to bring him to the park and let him go crazy around until he's pooped. Each stage has its ups and downs.

D has been walking since about 11 1/2 months, she's 14 months now. She's only gotten really good in the last month and half or so and has begun to run. Keeps us busy for sure!

They will get there when ready. Don't push it, I understand that you want them to reach their milestones but trust me having a non walker is living the dream. Dad has been walking since 11 months and now runs everywhere. She tries to get away from me all the time. Usually resulting in big falls and therefore biting her lip with her puppy teeth and bleeding.

I know it is bad to compare but I am glad we talk about milestones. I read the parent books or websites and can get wound up. "Seeing" what other babies are doing gives me a better perceptive, better or worse.

@threelittlewheels‌ I'm glad to hear Blake is doing well. I know he had a difficult start and things seem to be going well now.

@iamjojo‌ DD loves to help push the cart. That way I can let her down when she doesn't want to sit in the cart and she doesn't try to run off as bad. I also let her do this before she was walking on her own for practice.

DD started walking right at 14 months.  My nanny did a lot of encouraging/pushing to get her there.  She one day just let go of my hand and walked like 10 steps and that was that.  She still doesn't choose walking over crawling or scooting on her knees.  She knows she's faster crawling or holding someone's hand so we have to push her to walk still, but she can.  Just last weekend at 14.5 months she figured out how to stand up on her own.  Hasn't really done it since, but she can and that makes me feel better :)  I was that pushy mom.
