You microscope reccs?

DS wants a microscope for christmas.

He loves the ones at museums and will spend an hour looking at things. Usually they're a single viewpiece that's a few inches across.

I don't think I want the ones that have to be hooked up to a computer. That seems more complicated than it needs to be. I wouldn't mind it if hooked up to my phone or iPad, but since I so rarely pull out the laptop, I'm not as interested in that.

He can focus them well and he would enjoy making slides. He uses binoculars so he could do a double eyepiece, and Id prefer that or the large single viewer to one that makes him close an eye.

Does anyone have a microscope toy? DH keeps talking about buying a surplus "real" one, but I worry it'd be too fragile.

I don't have a recommendation; but I would definitely look in any teacher's stores by you.

This is the problem Ive been having. And he keeps talking about the darn thing.
