Cloth Diapering

Mold spots on GMD?

some of my GMD look like they have little mold spots on them. I'm wondering if I had one but load. They don't smell I've checked just out of the wash and after they have been used.

Should I try stripping them? Most places online that talk about stripping, are using it as a remedy for smelly diapers.

I have a front end washer. I do a cold wash, hot/cold with soap, and a hot/cold with out soap.

I think the "moldy" ones came from a load that sat in the washer too long before setting to dry.

  • I would run a cycle with 1/4 cup bleach, 2 extra rinses, then sun them. Then stop worrying about stains.

  • Thanks, I'll give that a try. I'm not worried about stains, plenty of my diapers have them. I'm more worried about the possibility of having mold in the diapers. Thanks again.
  • Bleach plus heat should kill it all off. Though I think I've heqrd of using lemon juice to get the spots away if you are still worried.
