  • Seriously though, what if they all just had an x in them and didn't end with an x. I feel like that opens up a whole world of still unique names but not ridiculous. That's my 2 cents.

I don't see how this is creative when it's just copying Brad and Angelina's kids names.

I wasn't aware brad and Angelina had kids named Knox and Lynnox but thank you for that observation. If I knew how to delete this thread I definitely would. I wasn't aware opening something up for suggestions would become an immature bully session. But that's just my two sense ;).

If you think this is "bullying," just wait for what your kids will go through having to live with those ridiculous names.

I haven't had anything but compliments on my kids names, it's a good thing I wouldn't base my decision on what their names are off what small minded people think.
  • I can't figure out how you've made it this far in life if you think this is bullying from "small minded people".. maybe you shouldn't ask random internet strangers their opinion on ridiculous names. Just go with xXx and call it good.

I don't recall asking for anyone's opinion on what my two children are currently named, nor did I ask for an opinion on a name ending in x. Call my crazy but I guess I've made it this far in life by not coming across snarky individuals whom have nothing better to do than sit behind a key board and express judgemental/rude/sarcastic/inconsiderate comments. I must of been really naive to think that a board composed of mothers would offer mature suggestions rather than negative insults and opinions that weren't requested.

@frownyface‌ Abcde? Wow that's awful. It reminds me of the story about a woman named Le-a.....

    "Leah? Lee-ay?"

    "Uh, NO, it's pronounced Le-dash-a".

    Oy.

Urban legend, but yeah...if that other article is real then it's super messed up.

ETA: what about Ox? Did anyone mention that yet? Maybe for the next boy.

Not sure if you are aware of roux as a cooking term, as in "first you make a roux" (actual name of a cookbook). Google Cajun recipes for examples. Not saying don't use it, but it I would forever wonder why someone named their kid after a mixture of flour and fat.
This. Roux/rousse is also the name given to a person with red hair, coincidently.

That's what I thought.  Because we have a lot of redheads in our family, but DH just couldn't get on board.

And I did know it was a sauce you could make too. Probably another reason DH didn't like it.

I thought this! Until she mentioned hunger games and then I understood.

Just three things here, since you're butthurt over asking for opinions/input and didn't hear what you wanted to, and are now trying to sound sassy and intelligent (but failed): 1. Whom was not correct there (but nice job trying to sound fancy), 2. it's must HAVE and 3. There no mature suggestions for giving all of your kids names that end in an "x." It's very reminiscent of Teen Mom, and quite honestly, sounds kind of porny.
The word "porny" just made my whole day.
  • I am not a fan of girls names that are both "unique" and have x endings. Beatrix? Yes. Lynnex? It's sounds like a stripper or a porn star. That's not me trying to be rude, that's just an honest observation. I feel like all of these people who want their kid to have special names (usually turning the spelling into something that looks like you pulled it from a medieval text or can't spell) are going to have children who hate their names.

These women are trying to explain that to you and you're getting ridiculously upset. Try and imagine how little a shit your kids will give to having similar names if they get bullied for their names.

P.S. It's not too late to legally change your daughter's name if she hates it in high school. Pretty simple process.
