Are the 3d/4d ultrasounds accurate?

Me and my hubby were going to find out our babys sex by a 3d ultrasound, but our nurse suggested that they are not accurate! Has anyone had a successful 3d test before thier 19 weeks?

    My MW suggested that if I wanted to find out early than normal to get one done. That was at my 15wk appointment. DH and I have decided to wait until our anatomy scan at 20weeks. Since we know that scan isn't intended to find out the sex, if it happens then great if not then we may opt for one later.

    I did a 3d at 15w, then a 2d u/s at 16w and both said girl. I'm hoping they're both right, but I guess I'll verify at my a/s in a couple weeks :)

    We did a 3D sono at 16w with my last pregnancy and there was no mistaking we were having a boy.
    Me - 34
    Him - 35
    DS #1 (after IUI, IVFs/FET and miscarriages) Alexander, IVF# 4 w/PGD, b. 10.22.08
    DS #2 (natural pregnancy) Andrew, b. 9.15.11
    Currently Expecting #3 - lightening strikes twice - another Natural Pregnancy EDD 5.11.15

    We did a 2D/3D scan at 15 weeks and they told us boy.... we will confirm at our a/s in 2 weeks!
