Help! Husband has the flu

I am 7 weeks pregnant and my husband has the flu. We are currently sleeping in separate bedrooms but there are so many places in the house that are probably covered in his germs. I'm taking my prenatal vitamins which I know have vitamin C, but does anyone have other suggestions for how I can ward this off? He bought me zicam but I'm not sure it's safe. I want this little baby to be healthy especially since they're so vulnerable right now.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Help! Husband has the flu

  • Has your husband been tested for the flu? Most people who think that they have the flu have either a stomach bug or a respiratory virus. If it is the flu, I hope you have had your flu shot. Otherwise I would use frequent hand washing and drink plenty of fluids

  • Extra vitamin D3 will also help boost your immune system.

  • Wash your hands! I'm a nurse and everywhere in the hospital there are germs and bugs - not even including all my patients I have direct contact with. I'm 6 weeks right now and have watched many co workers stay healthy by washing their hands and taking care of themselves. You'll be fine.
  • Use Clorox wipes to disinfect the common places. Sanitize your hands often, and if you want to enhance your immune system, eat some raw garlic. Just make sure to eat it with some bread, as it can mess up the lining of your stomach if you it a lot of it without anything else. I normally eat it with some bread, cheese and salt. It is a natural antibiotic.
