Cramping and Light Spotting at 5 weeks

I just found out I was pregnant a few days ago. I should be about 5 weeks and 5 days today. I have been cramping for the last few days (similar to when I am getting my period), and I have spotted the teeny tiniest bit. Is this normal?

While cramping and spotting tend to be normal I recommend to err on the side of caution as a loss mom. At least call your OB and see what their recommendations are. Most likely they will tell you to call back if you have bright red bleeding or you are filling a pad in under an hour. Good luck.

I did end up miscarrying. I was seen by my doctor who was very concerned and started bleeding heavily this morning.
