STM: mucus plug

hello! I'm a FTM at 34 weeks. Over the weekend I lost my mucus plug (probably quarter size three different times). I know this can mean labor can start soon or three weeks out but just curious how long after you lost your mucus plug did you go into labor? My doctor didn't want me to come in just said to watch for labor signs, so that's good she isn't worried! Thanks!!

For me, it was within a day or 2, but I didn't start losing it until after I was 39 weeks.

I lost mine once and it regenerated (which can happen a few times, apparently).  Then I lost it again less than a week before my daughter came.

I lost mine and I had my baby the next day.

I was 39 weeks though.

I lost mine early and nothing happened. I lost it again at 39 weeks and went into labor the next day.

I lost mine over a weekend, then labor started late on Wednesday night of that week. My son was born on Friday, so almost a week for me. I was 38 weeks when he was born.

I'm guessing mine was lost sometime during my DDs birth, I never noticed anything before.

@YaMrWhite - I really don't remember losing mine with DS either, honestly. When I got to the hospital, I used the restroom as I was changing into the hospital gown and there was something in the toilet, but it was TEENSY and I can't imagine that was really it. I figured I either lost it well before and just didn't realize it, or I lost it when they finally broke my water (at 10CM).

Lost mine at 37ish weeks and water broke at 40w1d

I was induced a week early for high BP. If it came out then, I was unaware.

Thank you all!! Makes sense why my doctor wouldn't need to see me just because I lost some or all of it!

Mine came out in pieces for a couple of weeks before DD was born.

I agree with PPs that it can regenerate and could be weeks until labor.

For me I never noticed losing it - maybe I am just not that observant of my vaginal discharge, or maybe I lost it at the same time my water broke, so maybe it came out in the shower or something and I didn't notice.

I lost mine about 3 weeks before I went into labor. I was dilated for 10 weeks and didn't spontaneous go into labor until 39 weeks 2 days.

I lost mine last week (33 weeks). My doctor wasn't concerned until she checked me this week because I'd been having contractions and I was dialated 2cm. I think it's only a concern if it's accompanied by other symptoms of labor. As someone else said it can mean nothing and can even reginerate itself.

I didn't lose mine until after my water broke, and it was definitely more than a few quarter-sized pieces. But, like the PPs said, it can regenerate itself, so losing pieces of it is not a sign of immediate labor.

I was losing mine in pieces a day before she was born at 39 weeks. I was in early labor and was then was induced for pre-e the next day.

If I lost mine with DD I never realized it.

i lost mine when my water broke, and ctx started 15 min after that.  that was in the wee hours of hte morning and DS was born late afternoon/early evening, and i was 37+1.  that said, you can lose your plug and regenerate it several times, so losing it in general is kind of meaningless.

With DS1 I lost it a solid month before delivery.  I never noticed with DS2 or DS3.

I can guarantee that you will have a whole lot more. Try golf and baseball size. That is just part of it. When you see it you will know. After the glob labor started 3 days later

My water broke at 37w4d. I had lost my MP about a week before.

I lost mine the day before my son was born at 36 weeks and a with my daughter I lost pieces a few different times within the 2 weeks leading up to her birth. She was born at 37 weeks.

With my first I lost it about 5 minutes before I started having contractions.

My water broke, then I lost my mucus plug and then I had my boys 15 hours later.
